i know that putting miles (k's in my case) on your car causes irrepairable HP loss but does driving with bad oil worsten that effect?
as in when you do one of those long series races and you do the last 5 with the oil light on does it do even more irrepairable damage (what's left after you changed the oil) than it would with good oil?

From the general consensus, you will only loose a certain amount.

When you change the oil it returns, but not to the previous peak

damn - i was hoping i just hadn't changed the oil enough.
my gt-one roader used to have 1160+, then i did the pro japan gt with the oil light on from the second race. is there any way to change one's oil during a series like that?

No. You'll have to change it before you start a long series so you'll have to quit, change the oil, then come back.

ive explained this millions of times:

driving with bad oil does not harm your car. when your oil is becomming dirty, u do lose HP. once u change your oil you HP level is brought back to normal.

however, the change in HP due to milage on the car can be perceived as "permanent damage". it is not.

as u put milage on your car, the HP rating goes up. At some point (ive heard 500-800km), this HP gain reaches a maximum value. once more miles are put on the car, the HP rating starts to decrease a little bit. however, you still net a HP gain. u gain a lot of HP from 0-800km, and loose a little bit of HP from 800-900km. once your car has around 900km on it, putting more miles on it wont have an affect at all.

those numbers (in km) are probably not exact, but thats what i remember reading.

and by the way, the search function works. use it.
