Petition for CES 2010 GT5 Demo

Demo again??????????????????????? I got tired of seeing Indianapolis every time I open GT5 TT demo. I want nurburgring and La Sarthe!

The CES demo is already done and ready, I don't see how putting it for download on PSN can "slow down the process", it's ridiculous that we're delayed because they're already said that the game is finished, why not release it now? I will buy GT5 as well as GOWIII and FFXIII there's no reason to do this no matter what release dates the other games have. :grumpy:

^^Nobody knows if the delay will affect europe and the usa yet so I woulden't get too hopeful.

I would like to get the demo, though I agree with Raitziger, too many 🤬 demos for a game. I would also like to help with the petition, but do you think Sony as a corporation will listen to us considering a "Demo" should be free? If there's no money involved, there's no interest from Sony. PD could do it, although I'm sure it should take something more than just uploading it to PSN, but it should be a couple of days work and wouldn't be a substantial delay on the product...taking in account the product is almost done and has just been delayed due to some 🤬 burocrats.

There is too much content in the Demo to give it away for free, too many exclusive and special cars too, if anything it would probably reduce the takeup rate for GT5 because of the lack of damage in the demo, and the fact that those who don't really like the game anyway will have enough content to satisfy them before they play something else.

Since it is not representative enough of the final build, I think it would be a bad idea to let this demo out of the door, and let it be criticised like the TT demo (which I thought was awesome). Instead, waiting for GT5 to be completed, and releasing a demo with everything at it's best, with fewer cars, would actually heighten anticipation and support for the game from all camps.

In the meantime, we can still hope for that rumoured second TT round at Spa right?

Marketing wise it would be smart to release a demo more like the total product since the TT scared a lot of casual players which are the biggest customers.

but personally i would say no, i dont want it but it maybe better for pd/sony to do it.
Which will be better for us fans eventually.

I think we may agree that having the chance to download the GT5 demo, playable at CES 2010, would really mitigate our wait for the final product.
Possibly the demo should allow to complete a lap.

I considered that many of us are saying that in their posts, but requests are not assembled so that are like little stones thrown into the water.
We, Gran Turismo lovers, are millions, even if we will not succeed it may worth trying to submit a petition to PD (or Sony).

What do you think? It may worth trying...
Using the mail from the PS3 may be an idea? We could use the same agreed mail subject in order to make it more organized. Unfortunately if we choose this way we will not know how many of us partecipate.

Maybe a txt file collecting PSN ID , fan site (GTPlanet, GTros...) username and nation could sound more as a petition.

Please consider that I am quite busy (work and family) so that if we proceed we should work as a team.
How about we make a POLL to see how many of us want the CES demo, and then create a UNIQUE petition to spread all over the net?

We have the tools so go for it.

I appreciate that people are a bit frustrated at the waiting times for Gran Turismo 5, but one must put things in context before taking action;

1. All the hype about release dates and time frames have almost nothing to do with either SONY or PD. Alot of the hype instead stems from websites taking pre-orders and framing dates with little or no basis and, let's be fair, unannounced and unreleased information appearing on excited fan sites. Sure, a few SONY media publications had Q4 2009, and KY has broadly mentioned a vague time frame in a few interviews over the years. But nothing was officially announced (except, of course, that March 2010 Japan date). Alot of the problem really has nothing to do with SONY. They probably won't know why you're all so upset, and I can sympathise.

2. The release date, although delayed (from March 2010), may not be delayed by much and has nothing to do with 95% of GTPlanet users since none of us live in Japan. Even if it is delayed by a time, it's not like they don't have a good reason (other AAA titles in the same month, though I am somewhat skeptical about the various other reasons given). It's also the ONLY 'official delay' so far, and again, it doesn't affect most of us anyway (SONY has stated on several occasions now that this delay hasn't affected the US/EU timetable). So really, one official delay of possibly only a few months (or even less) isn't exactly scandalous.

3. In relation to GT5, we've already had both an extensive 'demo' (in the guise of Prologue, which is pretty generous) and the time-trial, out last month. As gamers in general go, we've done alright...

If you have to spend your time on the PlayStation, there are plenty of great titles to keep you busy (even Gran Turismo titles)... So please, everybody chill out.

Demo would be nice since we wont see GT5 for another few years...

Cheer up mate, it isn't like they just announced it. We're all going to make it.

Why another demo ... to people complain about the lack of skidmarks? No damage? No everything.... I would love a demo, but i think PD is already planning a full release, no more demos... People dont know the meaning of the word "DEMO". The time trial demo was awesome ( in a physics way ) but there still people complaining about graphics , horrible car , lack of skidmarcs .... what are they expecting in a 200mb demo? Anyway... just my opinion. ( I would love a demo right now... )

Sorry, but this is pointless. Demos are usually released when the game is within 1-2 weeks of release. That's most likely when we'll get one if at all.

Uhh... really? Because Uncharted 2 had a demo quite a bit ahead of the release. Mod Nation Racers has been in open beta for a while (just ended) and that game doesn't come out until February. Bad Company 2 has been in beta for a while and it doesn't come out until March. MAG followed the same course. I could go on...

True, and since november I own the limited GOW3 demo.

fat chance, your gonna have to pay for it

Gran Turismo 5 Prelude
Okay, that made me laugh.
Over the years I've come to conclude Sony/PD will do whatever they want. I give up asking or hoping for anything!

I don't want an half-baked demo, thank you. I don't want anything else from PD than the FULL GAME they have been relentlessly working to create (have they?) for so many years now.

I could go on...

and still prove nohing. All those you pointed out were online betas, for online mode. We might have a online beta for this to see how it works but a demo won't come out til very shortly before the game, if at all.
GOW3 was ane3 demo.

there will be a demo for the Japanese release of the game as was the case with GT5 Prologue

so create a Japanese PSN account now for that :)

The posters that are crying about PD releasing a demo need to understand that the decision to do so is not up to PD. Sony has the final say and is ultimately up to them to approve a demo release.

Prime example for you is the delay of the Japanese release when Sony released a statement saying so not KY, or PD

Gran Turismo 5 has online play. The Uncharted 2 demo let you play the multi without the single. GT has an online and a single mode. Point stands.
