Petition: "Moon Over Castle" Vs. "My Chemical Romance" for the intro

The news recently has said that a song from the upcoming My Chemical Romance album (MCR) will be in the GT5 intro. I know a lot of us disapprove of that:yuck::grumpy:. As the fan-base of Gran Turismo, I think it's our duty as patrons of Polyphony to - how would I put - say HELL NO to MCR!
The song "Moon Over Castle" composed by Masahiro Andoh, is the main song for GT5 in Japan, being used in every single one over there, except for GT5P. You've all heard a part of it in the beginning of GT4, yes that epic orchestrated theme :drool:. Here's what it would look like for GT5:

Havent heard to song yet. Music is about the sound not the look. Dont say the song wont fit before its even been heard b anyone. To say you dislike MCR is one thing, but to say you want the intro changed simply because you dont like band is dumb.

PS this is coming from a huge Chem Bros fan and an emo hater.
 
Please - have you heard the MCR song? From what I understand no one has, since it hasn't been released yet.

But you proclaim to know that you already disapprove of it. 👎

I believe PD knows whats best for them, petitions won't interfere with them. TDU has a gazillions threads as a petition.

Moon Over the Castle would be nice, but lets just see how this turns out. Besides, they'll eventually add the "Don't display movie on startup" button. :sly:
 
Not to be a petition pooper, but...

I don't think anything in the game is going to change at this point.

Still, it seems like we always get the garbage songs for GT intros. GT1's was mediocre. GT2's annoyed the living 🤬 out of me! GT3's was a terrible song, muted it after 2 times of hearing it. GT4's was good, until it got to Van Halen, which played out okay. GT5s was probably the better, but still not good. Why doesn't PD do less work and give the same intro for everyone?

Chill Falango lol, just trying to make a change that's not going to happen.

I never really payed attention to the intro & soundtracks of the game, unless of course I like some of them.
 
It's just annoying coming here to read that someone absolutely hates the newest feature with a passion. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion (that's why I'm posting this), but coming here and reading this is just sad.

You haven't even heard the song yet and already hate it? Make sense of this for me please.
 
yeah, gotta say I was disappointed by this news, but it's not the end of the world... I'll just skip over it... The only GT movie songs I've particularly liked so far were the Cardigans and Lenny Kravitz..

.. less interested in bunch of whiny eye make-up wearing noise-making wierdo emo types.. I don't watch the twilight films and I don't fancy the bloke from Green Day... I'm pretty sure those are the only two types of person that like MCR?..

Personally, I'd have prefered something slightly more old school cool.
 
Well from what I heard, the song is supposely different from what they expect from My Chemical Brothers. I don't listen to rock so I don't know.
 
The intro music to me is about as important as the in-game trees, so sign me out! :lol:

Unless they can let us change the song... like the auto music emotion sort of thing they had for the GT4 replays, but instead of different camera angles, different clips.
I doubt it, and I know it's not gonna change, but I vehemently hate this emo 🤬. First 13 year olds, then vampires, now it's invading our beloved GT?

As you said, GT1 was mediocre.
I've never heard it so I actually wouldn't know, but if they just stuck with the same song then we would still have the "mediocre" GT1 theme.


To, OP:

I'm going to wait until I hear the song before I complain about this though, and if I don't like it they will most likely let you skip the intro entirely.
 
If PD actually did everything that people ask we would never get the game.

I could care less what theme they use, I just want to be able to play the game.
 
No one's heard the song, so you can't really make any judgement yet OP. You might just find out that it ties in perfectly with whatever intro video they use.

Still, nothing will ever beat GT3 EU's "Feeder - Just a Day". :sly:
 
Look at the bright side, it'll just make the custom soundtrack seem like an even better feature. I expect my GT experience to begin with about 3 minutes of cool post-processed graphics that mean nothing in relation to the game accompanied by the most Christ awful pop garbage I've heard in a long while. Following this 3 minutes I'll get months/years of sim racing enjoyment, sweet online play with the *great* and friendly drivers of the GTP WRS, and a photo mode that might actually have me going to the print shop to make honest to God posters... I think I can deal.

...To the people who're saying listen to it before you judge it. Nah... this is radio-pop... it's not like you have to listen to the new Brittney Spears single before you decide you're not going to buy it. Some things you just know.
 
I'm just skipping to commenting on this thread, so apologies if I'm repeating what others may have already said.


Get over it! For one no one has actually heard the song yet, there's nothing to suggest it may be as emo-esque as I think many of us (including me) are fearing. I'm sure the people at PD/Sony do care about putting something in the game that will be of a certain quality and aren't going to wee all over everyone's hopes and dreams for this game.

Secondly, that Moon Over The Castle is ridiculously over-rated. I'd love a brilliant and original classical music score, but this is not it, even if it is part of GT's heritage (as far as Japanese releases of the game are concerned).


Frankly I expect this song will be pretty epic and suit the intro to a GT game the way all the others have (in Europe, no idea about the US version soundtracks). I'd rather see Muse get a song in, but their time will come. Up to now I'm still in love with the GT1 intro with the Manic Street Preachers sampling, now THAT was epic.

Finally, cheer up guys, no matter how good/bad the song is once those 2 and a half minutes are over you can enjoy our beloved game that we've all waited so long for, and no, you REALLY won't care about that song by then.
 
Let me see…

1- Game is ready. They won't change anything. Live with it.

2- It's an intro song. Just an intro song. You won't watch it more than a couple times.

3- GT5 will have custom soundtrack.

4- The song has NEVER been heard. It has not been released yet. I don't think we can rate it.

5- You didn't like any intro song from any GTs, so I don't think your petition will have much credit.

IMHO, thread is pointless. A petition to change the unchangeable because you don't like something you don't know yet.
