I don't see the point in doing a forum reply 'signing', go make a proper petition on petition-online.com or wherever and it'll be taken more seriously i'd guess, i'd sign it for sure.

Seriously, someone do it...

I agree with you, but the way I have always played these games is to get gold on everything so it's very hard to not do it. I'm all about time trials too, so again I enjoy going for lap times.

There is hope, cos Resident Evil 5 had these stupid copy protected saves and they patched it to allow the saves to be backed up.

What we need, is someone to actually ask Ken or someone at Polyphony Digital about these saves, to see what they say. I mean, how do we even know if they are aware of everyone wanting these saves to be fixed?

Yes, I hope they are aware.
I like to try and get gold in everything also and time trials is my favorite thing to do. Just saying it doesn't run away. I am just having fun with the game without pushing for the extreme yet until I can save all that hard work. :)

Apparently PD do read this forum so they must be aware of this issue.

If they want people to invest days, weeks, months and years into this title and even go so far as to name the main game GT Life they simply have to allow either game back-ups or store data online as with trophies.

One by one there'll be people losing their saves and it's asking alot for them to start over.

I signed up to this site just to sign this petition.

Copy protected saves are a lazy solution to a simple problem.
Users should be able to copy their save data, for their own personal use on multiple systems, or as a backup incase of system error.

Other developers have come up with means of allowing this, without the save being freely shareable by all.

Make it so PD.

It was most likely put in to stop people from going online and downloading a 100% save, hacked with millions of dollars, and everything, and not enjoying the game fairly.

What does that mean - fairly? Fair to whom and in what sense?

Why can't I pay someone to play and unlock everything for me? I go to work everyday and make lots of money but I do not have time to play GT5. Someone else is good at GT5 and wants some of my money.

I would pay $150 for an all gold, fully unlocked, good car collection, and tons of cash save.

Yep. Me wants as well. PD should do it. What a user above mentioned that it should be connected with the user's email is the best... keeping in mind that they want to prevent us for using our saves elsewhere. Who would do that? And even so, can't anyone play/use their game as they wish?

Agreed. It's totally stupid for PD to not let us enjoy the game the way we want to enjoy it. I could care less about leveling up and unlocking cars and winning money. I'm a driver, I want to drive whatever car I want on the Nurburgring right away, not do the stupid tulip cup in a standard version Mazda Demio over and over again. It's fine if you enjoy that kind of thing, and I can see why you do, but it just annoys me.

Kaz needs to be informed via Twitter, e-mail and the aforementioned front page story on this site.

Time is your most valuable commodity.

Has someone already contacted Sony about this? I would go mad if my PS3 dies after collecting cars for a year or so!

- Lock save files to one single PSN account. Everyone can live with this. If devs are not able to do this because of firmware restrictions, GT is the game to have a new firmware built, it's THAT important!

- Introduce some sort of cloud function. We can share tracks, upload pictures etc. to the PD servers. So why can't we store our garage online? A list of 1000 cars should only be like 2kb to upload to the servers.

THANK YOU.

I voted and posted there. Everyone please do the same, as I noticed there are a few self-serving morons over there arguing against it.

Obviously they are not serious GT5 players or they would not support risking such an investment of time. Do not let these poseurs be heard more than US, the CORE GT5 Gamers.

Go there, vote, and post.

THANKYOU FOR THAT LINK

we should re post that link so it's more public

Copy protection is stupid. Why? I have 2 PS3, each of them in different location. Now tell me, why should i make licences 2 times, race every race again, make b-spec racing the same race again and again and so on. It's spoiling the game. It's like some stupid pokemon game except you can play it on different NDS. With GT4 i could take my memory card and play with my save somewhere else and now???

Honestly, I have stopped playing GT5 because i'm not going to put time and effort into something that could be taken away from me in a moments notice...I never got around to playing GT4, so i'm playing that now, and waiting for Sony to do something about this ridiculous problem...Meanwhile, i'm thoroughly enjoying backing up my GT4 saves onto two separate memory cards...Hear me PD?

Coming from someone that got bitten with a corrupted save, it's not that it's copyrighted, it's more I don't understand why it can't be locked to the user, so it can be copied, but not used by anyone else..

Hell, I'd even take locked to the console for now, but still copying able, just for basic backup purposes..

I'd say locking to the PSN ID would be a better bet, that way you are free to use it on any console you are 'signed in' on, and can be backed up..
