Hey Folks!
I open this thread regarding to our sound issues in this game!
So many complaints and people who are now really pissed, that has to be changed! I am one of them! There is even cars in the game which people don't want to drive because they just sound horrible! It's sad but a true story...:nervous:
Reasonable though... Since PD offers us no kind of communication with them we have to do something! There are no developers forums like other studios have. So there is just one option. Twitter! We know Kaz is on there and thats our only chance to get something through to him. If some people tweet him their sound complains he won't even recognize or care, I am sure! But imagine hundres or even thousends of Tweets will pop up on his account regarding to this problem. Then he can't just not simply ignore this fact. Because there has to be a serious reason for that. And since we are the customers, the ones who spent our ~60 bucks on the game, we also demand high quality standarts.
So that's a call to everybody on here who's complaining about the sounds and also the changes after 2.06. Let's just not complain let's do something!
If you have a Twitter account, tweet Kaz regarding the sounds and that we want it to be changed. Maybe it will be ignored, but maybe not! We have nothing to lose, just something to gain. Even if you don't have any a Twitter account, might aswell create one and get your message through!

So who is with me???

Here is his Twitter !

https://twitter.com/#!/Kaz_Yamauchi

EDIT : And those who think he might doesn't care on Twitter. I had a decent conversation with Kaz on Twitter even on private messages in 2010. My japanese friend translated everything for me.
Here is the proof.

I am with you, already tweeted to him. Instead of all of us who are pissed off and angry about this sound issue on here, let's all be proactive and do something about it. No point in complaining here when the issue can be addressed directly to Kaz himself.

I've pitched in my 2 cents. I'm sure all of you who are very upset about the sound issue, instead of writing on here about it which won't do any good, should directly put it on his twitter for him to see. Let it soak through his mind.

It's worth the effort to me, something good may come out of this and we may finally see this dreaded sound issue resolved with once and for all.

You said you'd post a comment about the sounds, which is absolutely fine. I suggest you follow through with that.

But it might look very distasteful to spam the same comment from 20 different users.

I've actually already posted a link to some GT Menu pictures that a fellow GTP member shared on these forums. I haven't got a response from Kaz, as I expected, but at least he has likely seen it.

Well we don't have to spam him the same message, but if there is enough complaints about this issues it will be heard. We have nothing to lose. One comment form every user will be totally enough. And with the spam wasn't meant to be every user spams him. More like one Tweet per user which is some kind of spam on the same topic from the overall number of users.

He will probably just stop reading his twitter feed if everyone tweets him to change the sounds in X amount of cars.

PD have ears, people. Kaz has been to more races than most people here. He knows what the cars are supposed to sound like. If a few sounds out of 1000 aren't even close to reality, I don't see them jumping all over it any time soon. It would have been done by now. All we know is for some reason things still aren't right. Only PD knows why, but I guarantee they have a reason. A few botched sound bites really shouldn't surprise anyone. I mean, we have 800 STANDARD cars from GT4. In the year 2012, 8 years after that release. There are bigger issues than the sounds.

I'm with you, but to be honest don't you think we've been fighting over this for so long? PD won't fix them for some reason, and what I fear is that they might misunderstand the criticism and change things that don't need to be changed.

Let's make this clear. There is nothing wrong with GT5's sound effects (or at least not before 2.06 in which the volume is all messed up), the problem IS and ALWAYS will be the sound samples in some cars. I've said it a million times.

Just as an example; it took them the whole life of the game to finally realize and fix a car that was so obvious and simple as putting a big V8 sound on it, I'm talking about the RM Vette. To make matters worst, they changed others that didn't need to be changed. I mean really... Who in PD thought to himslef "Oh no! The Saleen S7 and the Lexus IS-F sound like they have a V8, they need to be fixed!" Do you really think they will fix the other 100+ cars that are wrong without messing up the rest?

To this point there is only one option so everyone is happy. And although it might sound rediculous, it is what I said in another thread. They really need to consider to do the same thing than with horns. What I mean is that we can interchange the engine samples at our own choice, the same way that horns are interchangable.

To me this is the only choice, since by now, if the sound crew in PD was already aware of the mistakes they make, or Mr. Yamauchi or Q.A were aware of the mistakes, they would already done something about it. To be honest, to this point it is obvious that they will never fix the sounds for some strange and bizzare reason that only PD knows of. And mark my words: GT6 unfortunately will be the same.No matter if it comes out for the PS3 or PS4.

So PD, make it possible to interchange sound samples at least. That way I assure you that no one will complain again. And about the sound volume, lets face it, you unfortunately ruined it after this patch.

I have to agree with you on this one. Even cars from GT4 sounded better

If they fixed the sounds I'd play this game so much more. I just don't get, with all the resources, they don't record some nice V-8 sounds. Send one guy to New York for a weekend with recording equipment; he can go to the classic car gathering spot (at whatever parking lot everyone gathers at... no too hard to find) and record a hundred massive V-8's revving, idling, get in the car and record while they go through the gears. Any good V-8 sound will do. Please!

The worked V-8 represented by a leaf-blower motor... Why cut the budget there?

I want a Spec 3.0 new EVERYTHING, but it's not easy to record over 1000 sounds and then implent it to GT5.

But count me in!

I also have faith that Spec III will bring many changes, especially with sounds. To be honest I don't think it's necessary to record 1000 sounds since most cars have the same type of engine and it really wouldn't make a difference to have an individual sample for each or them.

Oh, and cool avatar. Love that old beaten up BMW!

But well at least for the Premiums then!

We need new Soundsamples and mixing as said above :)

So you want to spam the Twitter Account?

That's not a good idea. Yes the Sound is Bad and it's a shame that they sometimes used GT1 Sound , but that showed that they dont really care or can't care much about Fan Feedback.

But they should, because Forza is getting bigger and Sony has a bad financial situation.

The only Thing he will do is delete the Twitter ACC or other Things to stop the spam.

The only Thing a Customer can do to get 100% auttention is to Not buy any GT Game anymore and buy Forza.
Send a picture with a Petition from thousand of people to the PD headquarter. The picture Shows Forza and explain why you bought the Game and why you didn't buy GT anymore.
If you can send alot of pictures they Maybe lisen.

Some People Wonder why PD Never change the Sound and so on.

Well you buy the Game no matter what they change that's the reason. Well it's a realistic One. If we don't buy GT6 Sony will Listen.

Well and thats what not gonna happen I am sure, people wont do that, and maybe it will even land in the trash before arriving to Kaz. Through Twitter he will actually get it and see it. And if he deleted his account, then it just shows that he doesnt care for us or dont want to face the problem. Thats weakness. If he gives us a propber statement it's fine. If not then thats his choice but he shouldn't wonder then why many people start to refuse his games. And Sony will be maybe mad aswell. And if even small studios can handle way better sounds. Then it's time to hire an extra sound department. They have enough money!

Thank's I might get a job at a garage in the summer and might actually start saving up for a E30 since theyr not even £2000 GBP in my county (that's in good condition) if I find a E28 i'm deffo getting it and will make it look brand new :D. I'm still Also thinking of changing my GTP name to do with something with BMW's or anything car related but don't know what :/.

Keep your username the same, it suits you better.

Well I don't want to ruin this thread with my personal stuff, so MSTER hop into my other thread for my name change!

But where's the petition? I want my name on it! :) i'd really love original sound's of nice classic/modern cars on GT5 maybe even..

Turbo whistles, oh baby.

You know, the 'shock and awe' tactic doesn't really work nor is it being desirable for a goal like this.
It's considered rude and annoying where I come from and I'm not sure how it's perceived through Japanese etiquette.
It's pretty simple actually, either he really cares for our feedback and he perfectly understands already that the best way to find it is in forums like these, or he goes his own way regardless if he thinks he knows best.

So simply put these suggestions in GT-Planet's feedback section where PD can easily find them and hope it'll be noticed.
If you really believe things will be changed by bombarding his Twitter account, you might not only ask for the sounds to be changed but maybe question your own thought process too.

Oh it's just you use your Twitter account , or create one if you don't have one And tweet to Kaz that the sounds need an improvement or being re-done. What ever is on your mind. every Tweet which is being send will arrive on his account. So if there are enough he will recognize the huge amount of people being not fine with the current situation. :)
As simple as it can be! :D

You know. You might be right that this isn't the best solution. But if we do nothing, there is also nothing thats going to be change, and all the moaning and whining about the sound will keep going. Maybe he isnt even aware of this problem. Because if so, the sounds would of been better. Every little low money budget studio manages the sound better than PD. So there can't be something right. And if they dont get a wake up call. Then maybe nothing changes. We have nothing to lose. Nobody will be harmed. There is just something to gain. So might aswell try it. Or not.

Sony is Publisher and they decide afterall. I think Yamauchi Maybe want better sound, but Sony doesn't care.
The only Way to gain auttention is not to buy GT6.

Yamauchi is aware of the Problem. I think we can say he can hear the differents between a vacuum cleaner and a car. ;)

Can't imagine that Sony says, Oh the car sounds are fine enough. No need for improvement here, if Kaz would say, Oh but the cars just dont sound right, we need to change it! GT is one of the most important franchises of Sony. So the product has to be as perfect as it can be right? Remeber all the time we were waiting for GT5 and Kaz telling us GT5 has to come out as perfect as it can be and not half done?!

Goodness knows what they're doing with the sample allocation over in PD towers, but I have to concur that bombarding Kaz's twitter account with nondescript complaints is not at all constructive.

I can't think of much of an alternative, mind you; although GTP's very own feedback section might be better. You can at least be more articulate there (and please do be as articulate yet succinct as you can; don't just say the sound "sucks", that helps nobody.)

I agree, we have to use everything whats being offered to us. But I still think if he logs on Twitter and sees a majority of tweets being related to the Sound topic. That it catches his attention at least way more, than if those wouldn't be there. If it changes something? Might not! But as I said nobody loses anything by doing this. :)

Yamauchi Wanted a Perfect GT and has the Passion and Team to do it in my opinion, but Sony didn't gave him 2 more years. He asked for them.

Yes GT is the best selling exclusiv, but that's exactly the reason why Sony will not invest alot of Money to improve the Sound of 200-1000 Cars.
They dont have to because the Fans buy the Game anyway. And they didn't had competition. Every racing fan or GT gamer has to thanks Turn10 For the competition, because it Makes always products better and put the companies under pressure.Maybe GT6 will change Things that Customer wanted.

Would you invest more Money or just gain more Money?
Sony is a Company and the First Thing that matters is money.

.

Would you invest more Money or just gain more Money?

I agree on that point. But to have decent engine sounds it doesnt need a huge amount of money! Low Budget racing games. Or racing simulation games downloadable on the Internet manage it aswell! It's just about the mixing and recoding of the sound samples. Head it over to a team which knows their business and we get what we want.

Just dont buy GT6 if they didn't Listen and buy Forza or pCARS.

You know whats funny. Well or sad.
It doesnt take alot of money like you said and another Person remind me that Sony has Huge Knowledge in Recording and Sound Stuff.

Like I said, either he cares for our feedback and if he does someone working at PD who reads these pages (which they seem to do) will notify him I guess, or he (or they) think these screwed up sounds are a real improvement and think they know best.

Like Griffith500 mentioned, it's best to be articulate and clearly define which sounds are wrong and why.
Maybe it's better to organize for someone (perhaps you yourself) to try to engage Kaz in a polite discussion on Twitter regarding this, one spokesperson as it were (and making it clear you speak for many) instead of a lot of poorly written statements which won't be read.
You know, quality over quantity, at least showing 'we' prefer that approach. ;)
An army needs a general, without it it's just soldiers doing random stuff, in this case however you might find a diplomat can achieve more.

I doubt spamming his twitter account will give you results GT fans have been wanting since 1999.I for one am fine with the engine sound on most cars. Then again I drive a vtec and I have yet to hear that signature v-tec sound everyone is talking about so my opinions on sounds dont really matter lol
