Well then, mods should give a few members like hondakid89 rights to post info about GT4, because im sue im not the only who is getting annoyed with all these stupid release date threads etc.

Yeh i guess you're right, rumour and specualtion forums are always full of garbage, i say close it until GT4 comes out, so then i guess, sign me up.
 
hey y'all sign me up I'm kinda tired of these gt4 threads,I'd like to know stuff about gt4 when it actually comes out.

Just because YOU don't like to read useless information doesn't mean OTHERS don't want to.

If you don't want to read the information, then don't enter that forum. You shouldn't have it closed down and deprive the others of what they seem to enjoy.

I still think this is the stupidest idea ever.

So let me get this straight. This is a thread IN THE GT4 CATEGORY to get rid of all GT4 threads until GT4 comes out? Allow me to speak my mind.

I've been on GTPlanet since December of last year. Okay, so I don't know of a general GT category of threads other than this one. How will people talk about GT4 if there is no thread for it? So what? Are we going to post in Gran Turismo 3 with threads entitled "What must GT4 Be Like?" I think all of us were able to come up with topics based on what we see and hear about GT4 in the media. Of course, E3 is coming up, so of course some question marks can be filled in.

But what's the point of making a petition to stop GT4 threads until GT4 comes out? I mean, if everything about GT4 were in the GT3 category, it would probably be too much to even ask for. So a lot of GT4 topics would be in GT3 threads. So, of course a GT4 thread is needed to divert the GT4 threads away from the GT3 ones. You may make a petition to end bogus claims like "778 Cars Confirmed" from being put over the Web, but to end all of these threads based on the hard work of many GTPlanet personalities? That is the damnedest sick thought I've ever heard. So if Aerosmith wanted to release a new album, you want all the thoughts about the new album to go to the most recentely released Aerosmith album thread? Okay, well answer me this. How come no one is coming up with GT5 threads in the GT4 category? It's because NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT GT5!

So it's pointless to want to end GT4 threads just because one person feels that there shouldn't be any GT4 threads until the Summer, Fall, whenever it's released date. I think it's pointless, stupid, and just plain insane to come up with such a deal like this. Was any thought given to this "petition?" Or was this a way to divert the attentions of those looking forward to GT4?

I, John B. M., think that this is a shameless attempt at trying to discourage the dreams and ambitions of GT fans and to lessen the anticipation for GT4. And some people like to think I'm a softie on GTP, but for an issue like this, even I can be "hard. " But in any way, I'm not signing any petition for ANY GT fans to disable the GT4 threads. That would be foolish, selfish, inconsiderate, and morally wrong. Reconsider this petition, please.
 
Romors are fine guess. All im saying is that i hate seeing new screens and here of officialy made tracks in the game. Its like we will all know about too much of the game before it comes out. And like some people said is you dont like the thread/forum dont go into it then i shall say to all of those that posted here as to a negative vibe, u shant post here either. And again this thread is me speaking my mind as John just did in the post before mine.

I mean, I can understand that all of us are growing impatient about GT4 coverage. The reason why I'm still coming up with a variety of topics is because I want to talk about what YOU might want in GT4. I'm not saying that PD will actually allow your wishes to come true. Heck, I don't even care if PD doesn't like some of my ideas. I think it's better off talking about GT4 rather than waiting for a game that's been in production for, 1, 2, maybe 3 years. Now sure, it can get boring, but at least it prevents any chance of people coming online with bogus threads about crap like "EB is selling Gran Turismo 4!" The 778 Cars list, that may be a hoax, especially some of the models. But in my view, "Gran Turismo 4: Prologue" is still Gran Turismo 4. Only difference is, Prologue is more of a "glorified demo." Now, I don't know how I may be able to import the game, nor if I have the proper requirements to play this game. Hell, I remember going to EB one time to play the Japanese version of Ridge Racer V before that came out. If there was a such thing as "Ridge Racer Planet" online, I'm sure the RR fans would be talking about what RRV would have provided. So to me, we can only dream. I think it's fair because when you don't know how something will end up, you can always anticipate and dream what it will be like, rather than stop talking about it. You want as many previews as possible. Everything from WMVs, AVIs, JPEGs, even text about GT4. This will get you ready for an upcoiming game. And when the thing comes out, then people will pay top dollar for each copy until the damn store sells out of them.

So that's why I think it's fair to keep talking about it until then. We can only imagine. What's the point of not being able to share ideas and visions of an upcoming game? Be thankful GT4 threads are even in existance. Because if they weren't, the GT4 Prologue threads would be filled to the brim. And besides. All we envision about GT4 will be nothing compared to how it plays and feels in real life. The game may be a "1 out of 5" on X-Play despite our anticipation (I'd beat myself up if GT4 sucked). But regardless, we can only dream. There are enough teasers to get us into the game, and I say, bring them all on. I'd rather keep talking about GT4 before its released, rather than stop talking about GT4 because some other person doesn't want to hear anything new until the game is released. And if these threads were to be cancelled, it would have to mean that at least 40 to 50 of active GTPlanet members would agree that waiting for GT4 is getting old. So far, it looks like less than 25% agree with this "stop making GT4 threads until it's released" deal. So, I think it will still happen regardless. And dare I say to end this thread, we can only dream...
