In 2008 Circuit de la Sarthe did not have the raised green stripe to discourage drivers from cutting close into the corners (like the one at Tertre Rouge, the one coming of the Porsche Curve and the Ford Chicanes). In 2009 ACO installed those and the version in GT5 is based on the much older 2005 and the 2009 version. Of the two I'd say the 2005 is closer to the 2008 track.

I know this has nothing to do with the what the OP wants but just some info that I happen to know.

Yes quite easy to beat. As for the setup, errr well you will have to wait till I post in in my tuning section.

If I recall correctly I was running 3:08's in a tuned Enzo on race hards - engine level 2, everything else maxed - I may be wrong on that (it was awhile ago when you won around 1m Cr for 7 minutes worth of work) but that sounds right. If that's correct, then I would imagine the 908 would obliterate that time, especially if tuned up.

Are you sure that's no chicanes and no cutting?

I remember setting around a 3:03.x in the RKM 908 Killer Whale :sly: probably on R3 tyres though, and with something like 922bhp on tap

Well it was the layout with chicanes - as I say I could be wrong on that time but it does sound right. And that is with no cutting, yes. I'll have to check for sure tonight.

3.08 is not possible in an enzo no matter how much you cut, it simply aint possible. Ive done the ferrari seasonal with an enzo thousands of times with cutting and i've never been nowhere near 3.08..

Then I'll have to see what it was, like I say it was awhile ago - I am betting I have the 3:*8 part right - my brain is weird like that.

3:48 is pretty slow... I get off in 3 hours, so I'll update then... now I'm curious what it actually is since everyone is saying 3:08 isn't possible (which it well may not be).

Yes I think everyone is right - 3:08 just isn't possible - I did a 3:18.7 on race softs with the engine @ 922hp (no aids, no abs) cutting the last chicane right before the finish (which blows the entire lap to be legitimate). Other than that it was a nearly a spot on lap. Now I remember how much I really don't like La Sarthe - I never get into a rhythm... That being said, I would imagine the Peugeot would be quite a bit faster than that. Need to run some laps on 'The Ring' to get the taste out of my mouth.

Yes thats a very hard record to beat. The 908 was rated to have 730 hp. I tried to beat the record with racing soft with the rated 730 hp and I managed a 3m 21sec or 20sec at best and this with some illegal cuts. A clean lap for me was like 3m 23 or 24secs. I think the racing cars in gt5 don't have enough grip.
