While, I was looking through some of the GT4 galleries yesterday, an idea came into my head, how about a GTPlanet GT4 Photomode Awards?

Members would PM the host with thier nomination for each category, the top 2,3 or maybe even 4 of each category go into a poll to decide the winner.

The thread would be in the GT4 Photomode Forums, maybe even just the Gran Turismo Forum (to get more attention), here are some categories I've already though of:


Best Newcomer Gallery - (Best gallery which was made anytime after March 2006).

Best Gallery - Best gallery on GTPlanet.

Best European Photo - Best picture of any European car.

Best Japanese Photo - Best picture of any Japanese car.

Best American/Australlian Photo - Bst picture of an American or Australlian car.

Best Photo - Best picture on GTPlanet.

Best Photoshopped picture on GTPlanet.

Best Improved Gallery - A gallery which wasn't to great at first but is now amazing.

I'll give the poll seven days and see what happens.
 
There's the Hall of Fame in the photomode competitions. Revolution (I think) is asking about remaking them, more up to date and stuff. I think that's enough.
 
I think it's a nice idea George, as long as they were to only happen once every few months or so, or even once every year they could go down well.

But it would be best to wait until the tournament has ended really.

I like the idea too, and I also agree with what Moglet just said.

By the way Moglet, I'm sure I know you from another forum...
I recognise your love of Metros, plus you name.

Interesting idea... I'm curious to see how it would turn out. Especially the best photo, and best photoshopped photo. 👍👍
And yep, its me who's talking about the HoF.
 
It sounds like a sound idea but my question is why do you need to ask if you can do an awards thread for the photomode? Just create a thread for the nominations covering the categories and such and then once the end date comes up for the nominations you past the winners. Your allowed to use your initiative on things, the only thing you might need to do is PM an admin for permission to call it an official GTP awards. I don't know if they like you to ask or not for that sort of thing so I'd ask (it does no harm). But other than that theres no reason you can't already have a thread open now for the nomiations to come rolling in if you want to create one.

I thought I should be more safe than sorry, live4speed, but if I'm allowed to do that, I'll just PM the next online Admin to see if it can be called 'offficial'.

Where would it be located? Are you thinking of adding this as a sub-forum? Because, if it were amongst the galeries and such, it would need to receive a lot of bumping to stay in a noticeable position, therefore stickying would be required, and stickying doesn't always guarantee noticeability:indiff:.

Good idea, and hopefully, with official approval, this can shed some more light onto the photomode scene!
