many regulars has been very busy with their life lately
but Toad, I saw you promoting in other thread
maybe you got stumpydino to participate
otherwise we will have 4 entries only

btw... if easy$$ not reply me by tonite, I will choose the theme for him

Yeah, I went out stumping and got 'Stumpy" Who'da thought?

I thought it would be a good idea to invite people from other threads over to the 'Shop threads' see if they'd like to join in. One of those 'the more the merrier' ideas.
And we need the traffic...

Here's an idea for a theme... in a previous compo (Nurburgring) I did a poster using a Mercedes. In my research I found out that the first patent for Mercedes went out in 1885 and was issued in 1886.

So, that means that this year and next are (theoretically) Mercedes 120th Birthday.

So theme-wise: How can we celebrate Mercedes 120th?

And I can get you links if you need historical info.
And no, it would not have to be at Nurburgring.

Thoughts people???

And as for the contests maybe in the summer they should be extended to 2 weeks instead of 1. I know I want to get out and enjoy the sun...

The Saleen cover is nice, but the Pro Painter cover looks more like something you'd see on a shelf, plus it has a well planned layout and is more informative, so it got my vote.

Sounds good to me.
My 2 cents: 120th Anniversary cover/poster. Could be for any party/event/race.
2005 or 2006. Any Mercedes car(s) may be used.

And I like the idea of 2 weeks (summer hours).

those photoshop paint are very well done

hope you learn some new stuff and make some good cover next time

I guess it may help increase number of votes to each entry

Wo0t, first cover gone by! Very nice, I love how this is organized. Yea, I voted for myself since the poll is like over anyways. LOL.

Hmmmm, very tough choice this week. I was tossing up between two entries, both of which were very good. I chose the one I chose because I felt it best reflected the "Catalogue Cover" theme, and my other pick was more like a magazine cover than a catalogue. Tough, because this is the Magazine Cover competition, but I felt the other entry went best with the theme.

actually our competition has been more diversity
its not strickly magazine anymore
sometimes we have poster, book cover, catalog cover, event booklet cover and so on
as long as people sticking to the theme, we just let it go since we are lacking participants
