Welcome to the GT4 Photomode Tournament!

The Tournament will commence on: 31st August 2007


If you would like to participate in the upcoming competition, please post the division you would like to enter (either PMC or 2.0 rules), along with a theme idea (including description) which can be used later in the competition.

*Please note that for both PMC and 2.0 divisions, a maximum of 16 people will be allowed to enter.*

RULES

  • Photoshop or other graphics programs may only be used to crop, resize, adjust brightness, contrast or gamma, rotate, add a border or small signature, or to remove the "Gran Turismo/©SCEI" watermark.​

  • If you don't have Photoshop or other professional image management software, try a shareware one such as IrfanView or GIMP.​
  • Photoshop or other graphics programs may NOT be used to change levels, hue, saturation, sharpen, apply filters or otherwise manipulate the image in any form. ​
  • When using brightness and/or contrast filters to alter an entry, it must be uniform throughout the entire picture. ​

RULES​

Photoshop adjustments, tools, and filters list:

[Note:No plug-ins for any of the above adjustments or filters are to be used]​
You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image.​

This tournament is a knockout competition. You will be given a random theme, and will then be randomly matched with another user from the same division. Within a 6-8 day period you must submit your final entry via PM (NTX1982). A poll will take place for 3 days, where all duels will be voted for.


The competition will progress through four stages as so:

Both divisions will run seperately, untill we have found winners for each.

I'll post a few themes later, I'm too sleepy right now, been downloading GTHD. :D
 
Here is the "registration" thread to enter the Photomode Tournament. Please follow the instructions and U will do your "registration" fine.

Here is mine

Entry - PMC Division
Theme - Black VS White (Black cars VS White cars)
Cars - Any, but must follow the theme (Race, Rally and Formula cars are not allowed)
Tracks - Any
Phototravel - No


Now I will post Tommi2000 "registration". He asked me this favour, and of course I will do it.
Entry - PMC Division
Theme - Old School Cool
Cars -Any Car made before 1980
Tracks - Any
Phototravel - Yes

Like I said the Tournament (ROUND 1) will start in August 31.

Entry - 2.0

Theme: Germany
Cars: Any German Car inc. race and tuner (HPA Motorsports Stage II R32 '04 as it is a VW Golf)
Tracks: Nurburgring, Grand Valley (any) or Autumn Ring (any). (I'm pretty sure I have seen German flags at these tracks.)
Phototravel: No

Ok I saw all EXCEPT German flags at Autumn ring, but I like that track so it can still be used.

I'm not in just yet, just got to settle down getting photoshop and I'm there, let's hope I can get further then the first round this time though :indiff:

Theme: Photo oppurtunity
Take a photo of any car parked up on a track as if it were in PhotoTravel mode. No movement shots please!

Phototravel: Not allowed

I will be entering this tournament if I can, but since I'm moving house soon and we don't yet have an internet connection in this new house it might be difficult for me to get things sorted at first. I should still be able to use the internet connection at the local library, but that's still a bit of a pain!

Theme: 'Triptych' - three images that are linked or related in some way.
Cars: Any
Tracks: Any
Phototravel: Allowed

You must declare your link, e.g. 'Blue Miata', 'Racers at Deep Forest', 'Signs'.

All images used to be only edited by PMC rules. Images may be any size, aligned in any way (including insets and irregular blending from image to image) as long as PMC rules are adhered to.

Well since NTX1982 ask me politely to enter, i guess i could give it a try and maybe learn a thing or two in the process :)

Theme: Car parts (or something similar)
Explanation: Get a photo of a certain parts of the car (i.e. the headlight, taillight , car badges, rims, mirrors, spoilers, etc)
Cars: Any
Tracks: Any
Phototravel: Allowed
 
Well I think the Tournament its a good place for gaining some experience and learn new things, and of course to compete with some of the best guys in GTP. Good to know that U decided to enter mnm_bmx.
So people, follow the example of mnm_bmx and enter the Photomode Tournament.👍

Explanation : Take a picture featuring a car under 1000 kg and a car with more than 400 hp

cars : any under 1000 kg or over 400 hp (in stock version)

Explanation : Take a very common car and, as the fairy godmother, do your best to make it look very atractive (that include tuning the car and, of course, your talent as a photographer).

Explanation : Take a picture of a car then turn it into an emergency service vehicle of choice in your graphic application of choice.
Examples of Emergency Services:
Police
(highway patrol, CID/FBI, etc...)
Ambulance
Fire & Rescue
Coast Gaurd
Park Ranger
etc etc.


Cars : Any, go crazy! (Even Race cars if you remove all or most of the racing livery)

That theme would break the 2.0 rules by miles! It's a good idea but I think it's best saved for a Photoshop contest instead of 2.0 rules.

Use of the fewest and barest essentials or elements, as in the arts, literature, or design.

Cars: Any

Phototravel: No

Theme: Elite
It's easy, Get a shot of any car that you feel might be considered "Elite" because of heritage, racing prowess, styling, etc.

Cars: Any
Tracks: Any
Phototravel: Yes

Theme: Family Ties
I want to see the first available generation of a particular car, and the most recent together. Examples would be the C1 and C5 Vettes, the 240Z beside the 350Z, etc. Concepts do not count as part of the lineage.

This theme's also 'a bit' off, rulewise.
Especially PMC rules.

But even for 2.0, it's not allowed either...
 
Yes...both Mog and Beerz are right...there are themes here that break the rules of both divisions, so try to suggest more "simple" themes guys. Still, is good to see that U guys have imagination:tup:

Keep entering people...and btw if 16 entries are not reached, the Tournament will begin with the current registred members.
 
good luck guys ... my ps2 hasnt had anything but FFXII in it recently plus with my addiction to BF2142, ive not been feeling GT4/TT.
