I'm creating my own avatar, and have a quick question, what should I set as my resolution? The default number says 100 pixels per inch. Should it be higher?

DPI means "Display Pixels per Inch"... or some refer to it as PPI "Pixels per Inch". What this means is that the value you set determines how many pixels with equal the length of 1 inch. A higher number means you can produce higher resolution images, but since you're doing it for the web graphics, specifically a 120x120 px avatar, 72dpi is web standard; more than enough pixels to get what you want.

DPI (dots per inch) or PPI is irrelevant if you're not going to print.

Yes, you want to set it at 100x100px, 72dpi, RGB and that should do the trick.

Thanks guys. We were never really told about resolution and such in our communications class. Really helps.
