hardest effect to fake was the tread marks

looks good man.. thats a pimp shot even without the effects... but the effects add motion.. wish you could actually race in traffic for the screen shots.

I LOVE New York City. My favorite American city. I didn't think that all those sponsors and shows would even be featured in the game! Look at it. MTV, NBC, Virgin, Cup Noodle, Levi's Jeans, McDonalds, that missing deal, TLC's "Trading Spaces," basically with all that sponsorship and all those billboards in NYC, I'm inclined to say that New York City LOOKS like a race track. It has the roads, it has the sponsorship around the track, and unless you played the first Midnight Club game, Only thing is, it's pretty tough to clear out all the cabs on the streets. And since MTV is shown in the game, I wonder if you'll interrupt TRL ("Total Request Live," of course.) Maybe I would be racing against 50 Cent's red Saleen S7 from his video "Candy Shop."

But about the picture, that's pretty nice with the tire mark deal. Maybe those tire markings will be in GT5 for those who want to mark up the track with those grippy tires.

Hah! I WISH Time Square can be as light-traffic'ed as this. I hate driving there, it's a big pile of mess, always. :yuck:

I'm disappointed that the HUGE Caddy CTS billboard isn't there, at least I haven't found it yet...

Great jobs with the effects, i like how you've mad it look like t he wheels are moving, with tire marks and smoke it all looks pretty authentic 👍

thanks guys, i love new york city too. i'm planning on movingthere when i finish school.
as for the image all i did was radial blur the wheels and added a layer of rendered cloud and they cahnged the opacity and then mask it over the car.

MR8: yeah new york city traffic is crazy, as a matter of fact the photo does now capture how busy new york really is, theres not much pedestrian in the pics. by the time the sun goes down in new york city, pesdestrian should litter the street, far outnumbering cars.
