My observations on physics / GT5P / Gran Turismo in general...

First: you will need to forget all the previous version of Gran Turismo and try GT5P with a G25 wheel / clutch pedals / gear stick in a decent cockpit before you understand how many advances they have really made to the physics engine. Whether it's fudged or not, it feels a lot better in my humble opinion.

Second: has anyone tried driving different cars that are the same model before in real life? eg: when you take cars for a drive before buying them. I drove every Lotus Elise S1 I could before ending up buying mine, and there were vast differences in suspension, tire feel, steering feel, general noise and engine noise.

Third: has anyone tried to match the manufacturers 0-100kmh or other figures in real life? In my experience these vary enough from day to day and my driving skills / willingness to destroy the clutch for me to be convinced that all these figures are fairly meaningless anyway.

Fourth: In my humble opinion in GT5p if you adjust the tyre / power / weight ratio you can get a car that appears to accelerate and brake fairly similar to the real thing, and even get a similar speed where the rear end breaks away on corners, but the acceleration loss of traction seems to be all wrong, when the left / right grip appears to feel right, the acceleration / braking on the edge grip feels all wrong to me. I don't know enough about changing the setup to get them both feeling correct, but I would love sliders that let me adjust Acceleration Grip, Braking Grip, Cornering Grip, as my goal is to practice driving my real car when it's impractical to drive it like that in real life.

That Audi didn't have a blowout, he was doing 160km/h when he steered a bit too harsh, the back steps out and he corrects it too late.
He still caught it really well, but how comes someone with car control like that accidentally got the back out in the first place? My money's on an unexpected bump in the road surface or wet patch?

On topic: I really like the feel of GT5P's physics, but for some reason the car seems to snap back on me the other way quicker and with much less warning than LFS when correcting oversteer. However, that's probably my bad driving.

EDIT: Haha, Danowat started this topic? Had to be an LFS'er :P
