Pic 'n' Mix Time Trials (Interest check )

Ok had this idea in my head for ages and thought i'd sound you guys out and see if there would be any interest here's the task .... pretty big but should be fun

In GT3 everyone knows what the time trials are ( they should anyway ) the time trials consist of 10 tests namely ...

TT1 = Lotus Motorsport at Midfield
TT2 = Mx5 at Trial mountain
TT3 = S2000 at Tokyo
TT4 = Skyline GTR at deep forest
TT5 = Viper Concept at Laguna
TT6 = Toms Castrol at Apricot
TT7 = Mugen NSX at Grand Valley
TT8 = Suby Proto rally car at Swiss Alps
TT9 = Evo 7 rally car at Tahiti maze
TT10 = Ruf RGT at Complex String

Ok thats the cars and courses from the TT'S ........now look in arcade mode in the A , B , C , Rally and S garages and you will find the arcade equivalent for all of these cars except for the Lotus Motorsport which isn't available unless you buy it ! but you wont be buying any cars or doing set ups in this challenge
so what you do is take the Vx220 arcade car in place of the Lotus , ok onto the task ...

We run all 10 arcade cars on the TT courses but not the course from the actual test in the TT's , no we take the cars to the other courses instead and dont use the same car more than 1 time so we could end up with this as an example

Midfield in the viper concept
Trial mountain in the Ruf RGT
Complex in the evo 7 rally car

And like i said we use the Vx220 to replace the Motorsport


I can say there wont be no deadline ! as it's quite a test ... considering the task is to see who can get the overall fastest set of 10 and there's a lot of possible ways to think out and plan a task like this , but i must state ! i'd expect all entrants to keep within the usual rules as you would in any comp or spot race ,
2 wheels on at all times and no contacts with the walls and no Hybrids

With the correct strategy i can see a well thought out set of 10 totalling close to if not under the 18 minute barrier

Gimme some feedback on this before i go about posting it offically 👍

Is it up to each individual driver to choose what car to run on each track..? or will it be a set thing that everyone must follow..?

Is that right..

Any of the 10 cars on any of the 10 courses , you choose your own strategy as long as each car is only used 1 time

I quite like the idea of the NSX @ tokyo

I think i will need to work on my TT's a bit more before i get into this..

Wow... That is quite the task we could have at hand here Mr. P... How long time would you suggest setting aside for all 10 races ?.. This is like the week races^10 or something...

I was thinking of doing a leaderboard like the time trial thread and updating each category as it happens i'll have track 1 - 10 leaderboard ranking and specify each car used for that course and a total time section at the bottom of the page virtually the same as the TT leaderboard it should be cool , take as long as u like for each test , the leaderboard will still be updated the same even if its 3 months between each attempt .

I'll run them like i do the TT'S ... when i'm bored nothing on tv i'll run them here and there ... thats if it gets off the ground though 👍

I imagine that the TT8 & TT9 times won,t be all that different from the actuall TT times as the EVO and the Subu are pretty even..

Well one good thing to come out of that it will be easy to decide what car to use on the rallies ..

Yep only the arcade cars are a touch faster i can pull a 1.19.7 on TT8 and 1.19.5 on the arcade proto free run at the alps

.2 is an hour in OLR

So i must be at least 10 years behind in OLR terms on TT8 i suck at that one real bad 1'22.500 maybe i will try the EVO on there ..Might get a better result

Edit: I actually had the same idea with this weeks race... Take a track and use no more than say 125-150K and submit your time at any time you feel like it.... Do you think we could get Jordan to create a forum for that if anyone would take the job and review the times ? ? (I'm game.. again)

Something you could do when, as you so nicely put it, "When I'm Bored Nothing on TV..." instead of just messing around..

The Missing Link at GT3times---- Definately sounds interesting. And it finally allows us NTSCers to turn off the ASM and TCS (where needed)

One thing, I am guessing that only the two rally cars are allowed to swap races right? You cannot take an arcade car rally racing right?

Mr P ---- The arcade rally cars will only be able to be used on either the alps or tahiti maze as you can only use the rally cars on the rally courses in arcade garage rally cars

looks like a few are up for this 8) looking forward to trying out the viper concept on the uphill slalom so many possibilites .....!

I would turn in my times if this gets going, sounds like fun. Good idea Ron, as I have plenty of time to kill. The best thing about this would be that I'd finally be able to turn off that blasted ASM.
