I'm giving you a list of things I'd like to resolve to maintain in 2004, though I know I won't be successful at all of them. The top two or three you guys vote for me to do I will attempt the greatest effort and give progress reports.
Pick a few (five or six) that you like best.
Let the voting begin!
Explinations:
Stop drinking caffeine / carbonated drinks
I did this for 2002. In 2003 I resolved to drink caffeine everyday (:
Buy a webcam for my office
I've just been meaning to do this for about four years.
Stop cussing (cursing?)
It's a bad habbit and should stop.
Begin a regular workout schedule (upper and lower body) ...
I used to be stellar. Not so much anymore.
... win a local 5K foot race
And this is what I would do with all the hard work.
Redo my personal website
It's old and needs work. Also, I need a project.
Build something out of wood
Another project
Show up for work on time - 8:30 (currently between 9 and 10:30)
This is probably the only thing keeping me from a significant raise.
Finish my games (Hitman 2, Red Alert 2, Warcraft 3 ...)
Projects, projects, projects.
Keep a daily journal
I would be writing more often, either on the computer or on paper. Either is good for the soul, I believe.
Free myself of Microsoft, both home and work
I don't really hate Microsoft so much. I just want to be part of the cool group
Stop popping / cracking my knuckles
Oh, they're bad already. I can only imagine how bad they'll be if I don't stop.
Actually purchase an S2000, not just talk about it
Driven two - neither home.
Make that long overdue visit to MAZKid
He's actually close by, relatively. And I need to make a trip to STL anyway.
Simplify my home computer situation
Holy macral it's piled knee deep.
Photography: Average a roll of B/W film a week ...
This is one of my favorite hobbies. I should do more of it.
... maintain a regular B/W developement schedule with a friend
He's a good friend, and he has his own darkroom. Why am I not taking advantage of this?
Don't break the speed limit (exception: S2000) (:
I'm bad, mmmkay? Needs to stop.
Sail (or sell) my own boat (hasn't seen water in 3 years)
Poor boat. Going to waste.
Become vegetarian
Just for ****s and giggles (oops! cussed again). Actually, both my sisters are vegetarians, so it wouldn't be difficult.
Dirty cloths will not be worn a second time!!
They aren't dirty really, so much as just not clean.
Write letters to friends in other states
Another good habbit to be in.
Resist farting / belching in public
Ha ha ha, like that'll happen.
Use only local merchants, exceptions being Best Buy and Kroger
I've wanted to do this for some time now, but since my parents' recent purchase of a retail store, I've wanted to go gung-ho on it. Cutting out chain resturants, gas stations, and general conglomo-corps.
Be more active with my immediate family
This appears to be happening on its own. I think it's a good thing as we are very close already.
