whoooaaa dude, you flip-flopped on your choice for an mp3 player in the past few weeks more times than john kerry in the entire time he's spent in political office!

Seriously dude, try and go for an MD player if you need to carry more than 20 songs. Recording is a tad inconvenient but it's better than having a small number of songs on the mp3 player and not being to swap playlists while on vacation

Cool. I didn't want the iRiver because I dont think it's linux compatible--and it was more expensive, too. 256 MB is gonna hold, like, what, 50 songs at 128 Kbps?

Ugh! I feel sucky, I went there and I looked at the MD player in person and it was fugly, UGLY, huge peice of crap. The Creative looked good, but instead of the $179.99 sale price in the flyer, it was for $239.99. I saw a iRiver 410 for $119.99( 128mb) I liked it. More studying.

iRiver 880 I like this.

128 MBs is not enough, trust me. You'll need at least 256 MBs.

Check my 1st post, some great deals there.

I'm prepared to make the sacrifice now that I think of it. I'll take Quality over Quantity anyday.

I'm such a fool.

most of irivers mp3 players are linux compatible. I use my h140 between linux, mac, and windows machines on a constant basis :)

dont spend over $100 on 128mb, thats rape.

For a months worth of songs, go with 512mb. Who cares how pretty the stupid thing looks when it's in your pocket most of the time anyway? 💡
the extra storage is so nice to have...

VipFreak, what mp3 player is the one in your avatar? it's awsome 👍

Might as well throw my two cents into the mix, if it's not too late. :)
I picked up a Rio Cali 256MB Sport a few weeks ago. I use it for daily trips to the gym. Right now, it has around 75 tracks on it @ 80k mwa, with room to spare. If I happen to fill that, it has an SD expansion slot that will take up to a 1-gig card. It also has an FM radio (which the wife likes) and a stopwatch which i have yet to and will never use.
