Sadly the small cars will again be virtually worthless because of their terribly slow speeds and the GT tracks are only fun with fast cars.
You might still see some some smaller courses or tracks. You never know.

Now, aren't you American car fans impressed that you get to trick out a Buick Grand National? While I was surprised to see this machine featured in an old magazine of "Sport Compact Car" (now stolen, I think), the car is no doubt a sick ride. And how about that Buick that won "Best in Show" at SEMA? That thing looks b*tchin'! How would you like to take that bad boy for a ride? And see, I told you. There may be a lot of Japanese cars in GT, but you'll still be getting as many American rides as possible. These are new pictures to many of us, so don't come off with "search first, n00b!" Good show, mate!

I wonder if there will be more French cars, as I am watching reruns of "The World's Greatest Auto Shows: Paris." These shots of Paris may just give us a preview of what Paris is going to be like before it becomes invaded with GT4. But this invasion is going to be a nice one, it's not going to be like the demons invading Paris in "Onimusha 3."

And speaking of the Paris International Motor Show and of mini cars, allow me to "counterattack." Okay, small cars aren't Mustangs and Camaros, but I don't think that's their real purpose. When I raced the works Mini Cooper in Gran Turismo 2 (even with the 239 "free" horsepower for buying it), it was fun for a few reasons. First of all, small cars are about the thrill of driving, especially if you can't afford a full-sized machine. Who wouldn't want to have fun with a small car? Don't give me that "I can't fit in it" talk for this game because this is a game and that doesn't really matter. I enjoyed racing a Mugen Beat around Seattle Short in GT2. Just because it's small and slow doesn't mean it still can't be fun. The Paris Int'l Motor Show coverage featured the mini cars that have only forward and reverse, and as I heard, you don't have to have a license to drive. It's just a way to go around the streets. So you can still enjoy all the fun of a full-size car in a smaller one. So, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, pal!

All we need now is for Reliant and Morris to be included as manufacturers and we're good to go.

Of course with those two and Volvo you should really be given the option of having a dog in the back.

Haha, I can predict the 240 will be a potent Ring machine... 👍
My thought exactly - I just wish it had a little rust on the fenders and bumpers :D

Race Idiot
Is the 240 RWD? If so i'm gonna make me a lean mean Swedish driftin machine.
That is SOOO RWD !.. My uncle had one many many moons ago - Tons of fun in the snow or tarmac with a little sand ;)

T5-R
Nice find 👍

hmm? I'm pretty sure all 240s/740s/940s are all RWD. Apart from the smaller Volvos, the 850 was the first FWD in the saloon as I recall.
I'll second that - I'm fairly sure the 240s were ALL RWD until they killed it off in 1993.... (94 ?)

Nice pics!! the 240 will be a mean driftmachine!! atleast it is in real life! :) All the 240´s was rwd... 1975-1993.. all RWD!!

Well it was built by Marcos for racing, so it should be pretty good.
I once met one ... in a race : it was a mixed club race for classic street/race cars, and I was participating with my street car, a Matra Murena 2.2.
A Mini Marcos (race car) won that race. It lapped me, accelerating out of a hairpin. I had the impression I was standing still.

I normally don't attack Honda, but that Toyota Corolla Runz Z Aero Tourer kind of looks like a Type-R/Si from the angle that attachment views it (Post #51). You know, I'm going to like racing Volvos. And if I just want to have a little fun, I might drift out a RWD Volvo like some of you "touge" happy GT gamers. I just might join in on the action, ya' dig?

John, in real life the Corolla is a lot taller, not a good angle.
In real life the only time you see a Volvo being driven fast is when the 17-19 year old kids drive Mums Volvo.

Bah, my 240 was my grandfathers! Geez, way to stereotype... :ouch:

And I can vouge from many many personal experiences that an older Volvo is no slouch when sliding.

Nice generalisation there. My 22 yr old brothers got a 850 2.5 GLT (His own car, which hes had a year) & he doesn't drive slow. For instance he had a little fun with a BMW Mini the other day, oh & while we're making wild generalisations I'll say that a majority of BMW Mini drivers, drive like tw@s.

It's a wicked little car. Where did you race?

Yea they had one at Goodwood revival, and it was in a small sports car race up against things like Porsche 904s and really quick alfas. It kept up and finished fourth. Really nimble and light little car, teh only downfall of it, was it's front wheel drive.
Got a pick of a 904 and a mini marcos below.

BTW slightly random, but am I really slow, but when was this the front cover of GT4, or is it just some random design created by a random kiddy, which isn't actually the official one?

It was shown on http://www.jp.playstation.com/game/granturismo/index.html. :dunce:
