As the title says, show us a picture of where you live. Whether it be house, apartment, mobile home, or igloo, let's see it!

As customary, I'll start with my (parent's) funky colored house that we've lived in for 15 years.

(Not the best picture, but the best one I have on my computer :p)

interesting idea.... anyway I have no photos handy so here is massively outdated google street view image... it looks cleaner and minus the kids, boat and cars all over the place (they are the previous owners).

From the Google Maps Street View thread:

I’m green with envy TB, your lawn is so immaculate.

Thanks. :D

Good thing the GoogleMapsMobile didn't come through in the winter, though:

Taken from the upstairs front window on the far right.

And in all honesty, I can't take all the credit. We have a company come and spray fertilizer and weedkiller four times during the summer. Now that the lawn is six years old, I think we're going to skip that this year. Fingers crossed that's not a mistake.

Here is a photo that I took of my backyard back in October:

The water temperature is presently 61°F....the pool/hot tub are both heated, but it won't be long before they both warm up due to radiant energy.

Put some black mats at the bottom and you won't need a pool heater.

So, anyway, I live at the bottom of this man-made lake:

Unfortunately I inherited a pretty terrible lawn when I bought this house. It's not in great shape. I've been working hard to get it to grow and just when it was starting to look good, we had a terrible heat wave that practically burnt the grass. I just get annoyed when I drive down the street and everyone else has such nice lawn and I pull up out the front of my house and it just looks terrible. I’ve even contemplated tearing it all up and laying some new turf down…..

My dad came up with the bright idea of saving a couple hundred dollars during the summer by fertilizing the lawn himself. Spreader...check. Weed killer...check. Fertilizer...check.

Then he turned too sharp and dumped the bucket full of fertilizer in a big pile in the middle of our front lawn. So, have you ever been out on a jog and thought "Damn, I feel great all the sudden. I wonder how fast I can run. I haven't tried this since high school...", and then 10 seconds later you nearly fall on your face from exhaustion? That's pretty much what happened to the grass. It went from thick money green to dead as a door nail by the end of the week. And it doesn't stop there--it eventually turned into bare dirt and stayed that way until the next spring when we laid seed.

You'll notice the difference without the fertilizer and weed treatment, so you've got to do it, so save some money and do it yourself. Just don't tip the bucket.
