because only 200 were made.. and god knows how many of them have been destroyed already. the rest of them should be preserved.. well, not in a museum, that would be even worse destiny than the pics above..

Apart from the extended splitter/front wing and bolt-on rear wing the car is visually pretty standard. Most were modified more than this in period. There probably wasn't ever a standard spec for them anyway. As long as just one 'standard' example exists in a museum somewhere (The son of my mum's ex-nextdoor neighbour has a pristine rebuilt example for starters) then the rest of them should be used in motorsport. That's what they were built for in the first place.

did you take a look at the rear end of that poor car? but anyway, you might be right. I still find it amusing that RS200's sell for a lot higher price than 205 T16's. Of course, Delta S4 Stradales go for even higher prices.. which makes Greycap a sad man indeed. unless he wins in the lottery, that is.

then, perhaps you need glasses..

is that mutilated or is that mutilated?

It's had it's lights blanked off, grills painted and a little bit of body work cut away for the centre exiting exhaust. Nothing that couldn't be reversed.

Apparently this car was never one of the 200 production RS200's anyway, but one constructed from spare parts from the original programme. No real damage done then ;)

its a race car it should be driven into the ground like it was designed and built to do.

if it would be ex-works car, then yes, I would agree. But if it was originally roadcar, it should be kept close to factory specs.

And Rhys Millen set the RWD world record in his Genesis Coupe. His tires were down to the cords at the end of the run.

Even better video that the Rhys Miller one.

I have watched this many times and still love it better than any other I have seen. I am lucky enough to live about 45 minutes away from Pikes Peak so I enjoy the race--although I would not compete in it. Why was this not included in GT5 again??

El Capitan in GT4 wasn't supposed to be based on the Pikes Peak area? Because "El Capitan" is the spanish name for it.
