I'd suggest searching around the net for a file named gt4spc2_qt.mov. It's 23.1 megabyte file, so it'll take a while to download it.

OK, seriously, I hope these are screen shots of a new FMV that takes over once you go into the pits. The ghost levitation trick in GT3 was really stupid.

Where the hell have you been? This info was made public in early June! It was at the Playstation .com web site, in the forums. You can still go there to see the movie if you want. Check here with a search for the exact address.

The October issue of PSM has an DVD included that shows the pit crew in action. Is a sight to behold.

What will even be better, if you the driver can instruct the crew as to just what changes you want to your cars set up, during the stop.

1 what kind of car went inot the pits, was it the GT40
2 did they show the engine of the car like in the movie with the gt40

Yeah it was featured on the PSW(not PSM) magazine, but I am not sure whether or not its real time or just an FMV, because just think about the amount of cars said to feature are inexcess of 500 and so everyone of those 500 cars need to have animations of the bonnet being lifted up and tyres etc being changed. So I don't know how Sony are gonna do it especially with the PS2 not being that powerful.

Well you'll be surprised at what the ps2 can, indeed it is a powerful console if it has games like mgs3 and killzone which imo look better than halo2.

The pit crew looks to me like it is the same quality as opening videos. If that is in game footage then GT4 is going to be amazing!

Thoes pit crews shown are not realtime, on the DVD footage there is a noticable difference in the graphical quality, pit crews will be in GT4 if everything carries on as it's going, and why should'nt it, also you would'nt need to animate every car for them all to have the wheels taken off, the cars in GT3 and 4 are made of seperate peices that are stuck together like the car badges and the wheels (notice in GT3 when you change the wheels the car is shown without any) so that would be simple, the same is apllied to the bonnets etc but I doubt that will happen in the game, just the wheels.

I've heard that you will now get pit crews, it's just I doubt very much they will be as high quality as that.

There is a rumour that you will be able to hire faster pit crews in GT4, I don't know how much truth there is in that, but it would be a welcome feature in my view.

I think that a large prob with animated pit crews would be the positioning and angle of the fuel pump. Each car would have to done individually. While possible, I'm glad I'm not doing it

Just hire crews who will change your tires and fuel quicker as you progress through the game.

When you pit in some racing games you can make a whole bunch of changes,not just fresh tires. Maybe they'll have that in GT5.
