Welcome to the Project International Touring Series, a.k.a PITS. PITS 2 is the next evolution in the series as we move forward to Project Cars 2. However, there is more to this then just altering our league's name. Our existing format, carried over from Project Cars, will remain the primary framework we operate by for all weekly season races. As part of our goal of continuous improvement, we will be promoting more special events, enduro offerings, and setup shops for all who are apart of our community, and even those individuals who happen to just stop by. PITS 2 will continue to strive to be the series that offers the best place to race for serious drivers. Now "serious" doesn't translate to "fast", anyone and everyone of all skill levels are welcome in PITS 2. We use the term "serious drivers" because PITS 2 operates by a series of rules and regulations outlined below this post. All drivers actively participating in PITS 2 must obey these rules, and MUST remember this is a game and it is meant to be fun. This newest iteration of the league wants to continue to build on the great community we fostered during the era of Project Cars. We want PITS 2 to be a place where great memories are made on and off the track, by the wonderful people who make up this community. To all new drivers a hearty welcome to you from @Alex ONeill and @HazardLvL4, and to all returning drivers, we want to say thank you for your continued support of PITS. Look forward to racing will all of you on track in this new era of sim racing.

-PITS 2 Directors

Hey guys im on here now whats the next step?

Welcome to the PITS 2 @kushkush85
We do have openings for next season and would love to have you join us! First, could you please go to the first page of this thread and read all of our rules and regulations. Please open all the spoiler tabs and read those as well. Once you have read everything please re-confirm that you will be joining us next season. We are currently Running GT4 this season with all cars available except the KTM. Please sent PSN friend requests to Hazard, SWJaxon and myself. Hope to see you on track with us soon!
Best Regards,

Do new sign ups have to wait until next season? As long as there is room, couldn't they race this Sunday?
As long as they are all signed up with a livery picked. Will that screwed up points or something

Edit, I see where Hazard put. Current GT4 season in his post.

All new members can start racing immediately, it won’t mess up the points at all. The new members just need to friend us and make sure they follow the rules.

Would be nice to get a full field each week, or close to. I want to have more battles on track. There's been a few times recently where I'm in no man's land for 10 laps, 15 seconds behind someone, 15 seconds in front, just turning laps on my own.

One thing that just came to mind. I've noticed that each week, we end up having at least a few people running into pit stop strategy problems. We should try to run a room during a weeknight at some point to try and get those issues sorted for everyone, because it wrecks races for people. I'm hoping they can fix the tire pressure issue soon too......

So, early impressions of the CSL Elite are nice, can't really compare it to anything because I've never driven or owned a wheel before. Took me about two nights to get FFB and setting all to my liking but I'm still fiddling around with the braking a bit. Maybe it's just me being a beginner on all of this, but I'm actually running just a bit faster on controller than I am on the wheel, I'm guessing that'll change with practice and knowledge.

Only downsides really are none of it's doing, especially for the PS4. There's currently a bug for the CSL Elite in PCars 2 that's apparently being worked on, and I've got bad news for those who drive GT Sport because there's no FFB currently available until a later date, so that sucks. Tried it on PC (Assetto Corsa) this afternoon and it feels smoother but it clanks going down straights so I'm guessing I need to find alternate settings than what the setup wizard did for me.

Overall I'd say definitely worth the money if you're looking to upgrade. My only suggestion to those wanting to buy, just spend the extra cash and get the CSL Elite pedals w/ load cells installed, feel like that would make a world of difference instead of the built in rubber damper that comes in the basic set. You might luck out because Fanatec has been dropping some Black Friday deals recently.

Watch Falangos rearview at the 4:20 minute

Sure, make people watch my horrible lap! :p

Braking is always one of the tougher things to get used to with a wheel. On top of that, the braking threshold is very sensitive in PCARS2. In PCARS1, I could stand on the brakes a lot more, and rarely lock up, and I run without assists. In PCARS2, I frequently have to lower the brake pressure, and only use about 50-70% of the pedal travel for most situations. My T3PA pedals come with a brake mod that increases the pedal resistance after about 50% pedal travel, so it actually feels very good for modulating the brakes, when the car is near the top of the braking threshold. In some cases, like high downforce high speed braking, or braking into an uphill braking zone, I can stand on them with everything my leg has, and get to 100% pedal travel, and not lock up.

And yes, with practice, you will become faster. It's common for new wheel users to be slower at first, but it won't take long to find that speed! You'll be able to pay more attention to finer settings and car feedback with a wheel, now that you have proper feedback and input modulation.

You will become incrementally faster over time with a FFB wheel, however, the big improvement you will see is in your lap consistency. You have to remember a big advantage controller users (normally) have over wheel users, is how fast they can go from lock to lock with just the flick of their thumb. Thus, in some cases controllers can be faster than wheels.

Also when setting up your FFB settings on your wheel, ensure that the wheel is not "clipping". EmptyBox on YouTube has a great video explaining what "clipping" is and how to adjust your settings to avoid it.

You didn't see my driver in your mirror. No car just the driver turning an invisible wheel

I did, but it just had to happen on my really scruffy lap, haha. I was watching my mirrors very often in the race, and didn't see it happen then, so must be a weird bug with that replay file, lol.

@UMDfutbol11

I also felt I was faster with the pad for about the first two weeks when I first started using my gear. But I've already surpassed my pad speed after 3 weeks or so. @Falango makes Really good points about the transition, although I don't think I'll see a consistency improvement for a bit longer as I was pretty consistent with a pad.

I would like to join.

May I ask where did you see this? Couldn't find anything on their website.

The Black Friday deals I'm seeing are on the forums (GTP, PCars, etc.), they come with checkout codes I believe so I would look around there. As for the $629 total, I'm guessing jaxon went onto Fanatec and picked the bundle, then removed the basic set of pedals and added the load cell ones manually, because that's what I did and it came out to $629. Doesn't include shipping though, think I paid roughly $45 on standard shipping though free shipping is a Black Friday common.

EDIT: I can't read apparently...

I definitely feel more consistent now that I have settings down that I like, only thing I probably need to improve on is my left foot braking but I think that will come with time. As far as the lock to lock steering goes, I find it funny where on controller, I'd set ratios extremely low to try and dampen twitchy steering and on the wheel I'm actually moving them up a bit simply because I can't seem to turn quickly enough, huge difference really.

I actually went through the entire SIM 101 playlist on Empty Box's YT page (lol) and as far as I know, I haven't come across any clipping on PS4 but on Assetto Corsa on the PC I definitely felt complete dropoffs in FFB along with some sort of major clunking down the straights, so I know I need to do some work on that end. Biggest takeaway I think really was I completely changed my FoV, down to 45 from like 65-70 and what a difference that made. I've been shaving off nearly 2 seconds everywhere I go since I made that change.

Bumping this guys. Would like to get some practice in during the race conditions. We know how track/weather conditions can impact the setup/tire performance.

It's updated on the first page of the thread.
