Having just completed the B-spec FGT Championship I will share a few hints that may help others avoid the mistakes I made.

Bob will have to pit once in every race except Cote d' Azur. That race is short and no stop is required. So the following applies to all but Cote d' Azur.

Pit around half-way for tires and fuel. You will easily get back to the lead with your fresh tires if you keep Bob in the gray and use overtake commands. Then the AI will pit with 3 or 4 laps to go, except for Indy Road.

Use racing soft except in the rain. Wear will not be an issue since you will be getting new tires halfway through anyway.

Don't get cute and try to take only as much fuel as you THINK you'll need. At Monza I had to pit AGAIN because I was using more fuel than I thought. So take a full load of fuel when you pit.

At Indy Road I thought I could make the whole race without pitting but I had to pit with 1 to go for fuel. I dropped to 9th because the AI made it without stopping. So don't push your luck. Stop and get tires and fuel.

I disagree, I did this tournament in B-Spec today and apart from on Cote d' Azur got into 1st place on the 1st lap of each race. From then on, I kept bob at a certain speed depending on the track and let him decide when to pit in. Also bob automatically chooses the correct amount of fuel needed to finish the race. Manually pitting is a complete waste and not needed, if you do you have to spend more time molly-coddling him to retake the lead.

That's just how I saw it, the tournament was stupidly easy imo.

I can see both ways working. I just ran Bob hard and had a huge lead on each race and he pitted about 1 or 2 laps from the end on all. I did think about pitting earlier as I could see an advantage to pitting just when you catch up to lappers because they would slow you anyway. By pitting then, you would hopefully get out just at the front or close to it and have a reasonably clear track .

Me, I was going off the gap, making sure I had time in hand before pitting. Earlier experience told me I'd want around 45 seconds if I was taking more than about a half load of fuel. With that in mind, I never needed to really worry about losing first place once I got it. If pitting only for tires, 25 seconds seems plenty.

For me it was rediculously easy.. pitted slightly after half way (in 35, 37 lap races, on lap 20. On shorter ones just take a guess...)

By that time I was at least one lap ahead of them, and even if not, it is easier to catch up and maintain and watch them pit and come out 40+ seconds behind you right at the end of the race. Plus those new tires in the middle will really give you an edge over them.

Same here mate that is what i did, half way through pitted while ahead on reasonable tyres for fresh tyres with the knowledge AI would be slowing in laps times on worn tyres as my new tyres wore in and increased in lap times. Worked a treat.
