Has anybody else noticed how Pizza guys always seem to drive Chevy Cavaliers? And it's their car they drive, with a Papa Johns sign stuck to the roof.

I'm probably just seeing the same car over and over. This already seems like a stupid thread idea.

Corollas are the usual suspect over here, it's just whatever they can afford usually.

Most people volunteer whatever car they own. Most are pickup trucks or beaters. Or both.

I think they'd just be glad they don't have to ride a moped.

I've never been a delivery person, certainly not for a pizza place so I can't speak from experience but I'd be much happier in a rust bucket than on a moped.

Pizza Delivery was my first job.

I used my 1987 Honda Accord.

There were good deliveries(friday nights, drunks would give me alot of tips so they can get back to the foosball game)
There were bad deliveries(ones with misspelt addresses that meant you had to hunt for the place or where you had to walk 100m to get to the place due to bad parking)
And then there were crap deliveries(when you had to deliver to 3 people and all were large orders.

The pizza places by me all seem to have company owned delivery cars. Not employee owned it seems as they stay in the lot even when the place is closed.

Still usually a old Cavalier. Civic, etc. Usually something very cheap as the delivery guys (and girls?) beat them like rented mules.

Seem to remember that the last time I ordered pizza it was a Skoda Octavia.

I could say the same for here. Mainly Cavalier's and Saturn's, with the occasional beat up 90s Subaru Impreza/Forester. Interestingly enough I've seen the Papa John's near my friend's house have a rather clean looking last generation Ford Fusion. (The one with the Gillette unibrow as I call it) Probably the "newest" pizza delivery car I've seen.

Most around here are Cavaliers too. The rest are pretty much 6th/7th gen Civics.

Coming through...Hot pizza

Torque.

I use to deliver Pita Pit in an MR2 Spyder, then a B20Vtec Civic, and finally an M3 for a while. Oh, and a busted Integra LS. Pizza was a Corolla mostly and sometimes the MR2.

Here it's Yaris', but they're actual company vehicles for Dominos. Before they were brought in most of the pizza delivery cars were Echos or Hyundai Getz'.

I see everything, and by everything I mean any car that can be put low to the ground cheaply and given a coffee can exhaust, then you have the more sensible types that are driving around newer corollas and VWs and what not, throw in a Versa here and there.

That's a pretty expensive pizza! :)

Sounds like pizza delivery is much more of an industry in the US, in the UK (as Beeblebrox will know) it's more often a 'casual' job that the driver is expected to use his own vehicle for. And you see some real sheds :D

My local pizza place uses Mk4 & 5 Ford Fiestas. Which are owned by the company. It's pretty good going that they've lasted this long what with Papa Johns, Pizza Hut and Dominos taking over.

Here it's usually mopeds, I've gotten car delivery from only one place (that has since gone out of business), with a Tata Indica (I suspect the deliverer's personal car).
