Playing PS2 lan games on PS3

Back to ask another question!!! This one is a little weird didnt know where to put it but PS3 sum's it up most.


Can you play gt4 multi-lan on the ps3 i never played online with my ps2's so wondering if i can do it via my ps3.

Can you play online ps2 games on ps3?

As for question #2, Yes, most titles work online, but you have to use the internet adaptor setup program (for the PS2), to set it up so the game thinks you are using an eth port on the PS2 (Most games will try to set everything up when you first go online), bluetooth headsets will NOT work with PS2 games, but a USB headset (like the normal one you would use for PS2), works.

I tried to interface a PS3 and PS2 playing GT4.

While the two consoles connected and played the game quite happily, they quickly lost track of each other and I found the cars in completely different positions on the two machines.

Never tried PS3-to-PS3 though. I only have one PS3.

I've tried a Lan game of GT4 with my PS2 and PS3 and it worked fine.
PS2 ran GT4 from the harddrive and PS3 ran GT4 from the disc. No issues.

Well, if you have the PS2 Online setup disk, you can pop that in I think, but if you have a game that plays online (SOCOM 3/CA, Star Wars Battlefront 1/2, any game that has an online mode usually), and go into the online menu and create a online profile, and do the setup, and let everything run as it should, and it should set it up as if you are using a PS2, and it should work.
