Hello :)

I decided to purchase a Playseat for my G27 and I would like to know is the Revolution worth the extra money or it's just cosmetic differences.

Appreciate your help guys as I couldn't find any direct comparison online between the Playseat evolution and the revolution.

If I was going to spend that kind of money, I would go with something without the center post like an Obutto.

I have both...it's only down to where the bar is ! The seats are the same...FYI the revolution is the newest model ...both are sturdy.....the revolution does have leg room by the peddles where the evolution is limited....if you like to heal/toe when braking as an example if you have a clutch peddle wheel ( g27 or similar ) then I would go the revolution because u can move your feet around at the peddles and the bar isnt in the way! ....but if u use a wheel that has only gas/brake then either seat would feel about the same! In the end if u are going to get a playseat I would recommend the revolution over the evolution just because it is the newer model!

My Tony Stewart Home Depot Playseat destroyed my ankles after racing for more than an hour. This is due to the pedal tray not being adjustable and having such a steep angle. Not being able to adjust the seat back angle is a flaw discovered over time. Playseat has to pay a pretty chunk of change for licensing, which we pay for.

I'm happy with Obutto Ozone. I'd like to be able to have a bit more freedom with it though. The seat is lacking shoulder support, the headrest is so far back it can't actually be used as a headrest. Seems to be designed to be used with a helmet.

The Revolution looks to have resolved a lot of what the Ozone is lacking. Yes it does take up space and its heavier than the Playseat. I built a platform with castors for my Ozone. It's in my Man Cave, I never hear about it from my wife anyway. If you need to be able to tuck away or quickly dismantle your rig, the Playseat is the one to get. If you want flashy color scheme or official licensing, get the Playseat. If you want a rig with a lot of adjustment features, usefulness, and doesn't sway or come out of adjustment under hard use, get the Revolution.

If I could afford it, I absolutely would get the new rig from Obutto.

Whatever you decide, DO NOT use the wheel as a hand grab to pull yourself out of the seat or getting into it. These wheels are not built for that!

I have the Playseat GranTurismo Edition which is pretty much just a revolution but with slightly better seat materials and embroider logos really. When I unpacked it I did think the seat was under-padded but it isn't at all uncomfortable for me, or for any of my friends who have tried it. For what it's worth I do endurance races and long online sessions too and don't feel achey after. Took me a few days and constant adjusting to find the right angles / distances for my G27 and pedals but it's fine now.

It has enough adjustability to accommodate my long legs and is very solid. The seat springs did squeak due to it being new but nothing a can of WD40 didn't sort out. It also folds up and I've been happy with it since I got it.

obutto oZone is cheaper and better than any PlaySeat I've ever tried...

Sorry for bumping this very old thread!

But I'm really looking into it. I only have playseat evolution and revolution in my country. Even the challenge isn't and ordering it will cost me a total of around 400$ which might make the evolution/revolution maybe better options.

So did anyone by chance own both?!
I think the main middle column in the evolution doesn't make sense since it will hinder heel and toe or left foot breaking maybe?!
But I also would like to know a bit of a feedback about the revolution. Any downsides? Issues? Stability? Reliability? Movement etc...

Thanks.

I recently bought a Playseat Evolution and have the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT.
I found the centre post was hard up next to my ankle for left foot braking and quite uncomfortable.
To remedy this I fitted a piece of chequer plate to the pedal base and was able to drill new holes and move the pedals further to the left. Much better for left foot braking. IMAG0990.jpg
