I don't think Sony's financial position is really going to change someone's opinion to get the console or not.

Sony's boat has just avoided that iceberg. Now it just needs to sail for port safely. I'm sure the PS4 can help out on that front.

Would be great if Sony releases PSVita + PS4 pack for 500$ 👍 i want one.

Still much better offer than Xbox One for the same money.

You know, a Vita & PS4 bundle would interest me. Be good if they'd do that because I intend to get a Vita if its incorporated better into the 4.

Please tell me that's the in game version of twitter and not real life twitter. I can just about stand Facebook but twitter..... :yuk:

Just like I said; I fear PSN would turn into Facebook... and, it seems like I was right. Sadly.

Isn't sadly. It's the Future. People nowadays like those things.
PSN will be a social network gaming instead a network gaming.
Maybe this time the 'antisocial' stigma will disappear.

As long as the PS Plus Instant game collection isn't headlined by Candy Crush and FarmVille!!

This is of course just my opinion, but:

I'd agree that Sony has to go social. Same with Microsoft and whomever else. Thing is, we're getting over-saturated with social networks. You have Facebook, Twitter, Instagramm, Google+ (), Xing, Steam (if you want to count it) and a lot of local stuff as well. The problem, in my mind, is that there's a point at which you're not profitting from Facebook's popularity, you're competing with it. It might sound a bit far-fetched, admittedly. But, if you wanted people to know what you were up to, in terms of gaming and whatnot - why not use what you've had for years? Why not use the biggest thing on the market? Why not just post it on Facebook?

That's what I'm wondering. Same goes for Microsoft and their Live service, actually. But that is what following trends will get you, I suppose: You'll likely have run-ins with a lot of competitors, especially if you're (somewhat) late to the party. It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation in that regard, I guess.

I thought it was pretty obvious the direction they were taking regarding PSN and the ''social'' stuff when Sony held their conference back in February. But yeah, not a fan of either.

What are you referring to, the hashtags in the Driveclub picture? The game is titled #Driveclub, nothing to do with twitter but I guess they went with that because it's a social game.

Thank god. Yeah the # in the trophies. I don't usually bother with the online trophies, they come if they come is my motto with those but if I have to have twitter for a trophy? No.

I really don't see what the problem is. I'm not a big fan of social networking either, but I think it looks great. Being able to compare your progress with friends looks easier than before and I do like the fact that each trophy has a progress indicator, although I can see a lot of devs ignoring it.

As for the calendar, I think it looks great. You can make a note of online competitions you want to participate in. Like the racing series run on this forum for example. The whole thing, while more social than before, doesn't look too bad. And you can still be Nigel no mates if you want.

If I wanted to be social, I'd stop playing so many video games :p

A lot of pretty young women are having a hard time finding husbands because a lot young men (well, old boys) are still latched onto mommy's breast with a video game controller in hand.

This was a quote from a woman [college student] who called into a radio show discussing youth, obesity, and laziness.
