Has anyone here connected a Logitec or Fanatec steering wheel to the PS4 to see it is works or not?
Logitech confirmed they are working on drivers for the PS4, which means Fanatec compatibility.

Cool, I have a Logitec and 2 Fanatec wheels here and most of my friends have Fanatec wheels. GT7 is a ways off but nice to know the wheels will likely work when it is here.Logitech confirmed they are working on drivers for the PS4, which means Fanatec compatibility.
Granted it was a long time ago but I think my PS3 was just in cardboard too. Was like 2007 though so....
For those who have a PS4 in Europe, could you check to see if it has 'Made in China' or Made in Japan' on it, so the rumours can be confirmed or busted?
On Neogaf yesterday people from countries like Finland were reporting made in Japan while most other countries in the EU have made in China. Rough guess would be 20-30% made in Japan.
JawehawkStill got my PS3 60gb box, its pretty soild but the Original was a big heavy beast. The cardboard inside is folded in such a way to absorb all shock and bounce freely. Ps4 cardboard inside is only going to transfer shock in my opinion. It doesn't leave much room for error.
Might be why some were dead on arrival, Sony stated damage during shipping occurred.
I never said that!![]()
I am, however, a bit annoyed by the fact (?) that the US got a 10 dollar coupon with their consoles, and Europe, or at least Denmark, doesn't get anything. Seriously, what gives?
I never said you did!![]()
Welcome to rip off Europe where things on sales are even more expensive than normal price in North America.
One UK retailer was offering a £10 voucher when you spend over £100 Pounds which the PS4 qualifies for but that's about it, still £150 more expensive than the US for no reason.![]()

Yeah you did. You have me quotet as saying it!![]()
Other than totally different rates of duty, tax, shipping costs, economies of scale per country and localisation costs.
Its annoying that we pay more for stuff in Europe than in the US, but to say its for no reason is inaccurate (you may not like or agree with those reasons - but that doesn't mean they don't exist). Its also important to remember that nmost US prices are before sales tax has been added, while European prices are after sales taxes have been added.
The trucking operators often need to bid against each other in these situations, with the lowest winning the contract - just standard capitalist practice....We are going to have to disagree on this one. From what I have found companies do it because they can and make up excuses.
Ship docks on edge of EU country, ship dock on edge of US.... 1500 miles to truck it to Best Buy in Kansas and we pay more to truck it to the Midlands! US has the same standard of living, equally high levels of pay and logistics costs, if anything getting things distributed around the states should cost more because of distances. Yes tax rates vary by state but its still cheaper.
I reckon I will invest in one eventually, but it will probably not be until GT7 comes out before I can even remotely justify the expense of replacing my PS3. Incidentally, my second PS3 celebrated it's 3rd birthday a few days ago, and it is quite happy in the knowledge that it will not be being replaced any time soon!! In the meantime, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see just what I'm missing...
I'll definitely be keeping my PS3, but it's the 'alongside' idea that I don't like much. The PS3 made the PS2 redundant and I was happy with being able to use just the PS3, which along with all the PS2 functionality it originally had, the PS3 far outstripped the PS2 by being online and a Blu-ray player as well. But I don't see the point in running a PS3 and a PS4, when the PS3 can do everything I want it to, and all the PS4 can add is new games - esp. when the one new game I want right now is not even a PS4 title. Why replace? The games that were great on the PS3 will remain great. So why not keep it, alongside any new console?

Incidentally, on Playstation network on the PS4, can you still see people on PS3s, and use PS Home etc., or is it all separate?
I think it is worth waiting to get PS4 until when you can get games that you want. Hopefully in a year or two, the Slim Version comes out which is when I will get one for myself. Hopefully they also upgrade the ARM chip (And hopefully it is ARMv8 based) so it is powerful enough to download in low power state unlike Launch version console which is disappointing. Also OS will be updated so it should have more functionality, games should be cheaper to buy and console should have a bigger library of games. Will be interesting to see what you guys make of the PS4 - the launch of the PS4 has largely passed me by... I reckon I am not enough of a 'gamer' any more to warrant buying a PS4 at launch... coupled with the fact that GT6 is about to come out for PS3 and take up any gaming time I may have devoted to a PS4, and I have precisely no reasons left to buy a PS4 yet. I reckon I will invest in one eventually, but it will probably not be until GT7 comes out before I can even remotely justify the expense of replacing my PS3. Your PS+ membership spans all accounts, so you can still get the free PS3 games and play them there...As for having it alongside a PS3, I found myself in the same situation and is not that viable at the moment, specially considering that you have to pay for online of PS4...

Hope it does for you, though you'll have a day of dilemma if you're getting GT6 tooJust been told I should have mine by Friday! Let's just hope that sticks![]()
I actually didn't need to use the USB trick when we got ours on Sunday, just connected to the web and it did it's bit in a minute or two. My connection ever since, despite being just 20mb/s PSN hasn't given me any grief whatsoever.Well my replacement PS4 turned up yesterday. Update via USB when very smoothly and I had the chance to play a little bit of AC and Killzone last not. Not that impressed by AC but Killzone definitely showcases the new console. You're all very welcome to add me for some MP fun.
