Gran Turismo 6 has sold more than 500,000 in Japan. PoDi has received the gold prize 👍

Despite all the complains, I think they deserve it for their hardwork and their innovation with the PS3. It's also a good car game in my eyes.

I very much agree. it was only 'hated' upon because PD gave us vague deadlines, which people somehow interpenetrated as much sooner than actually acceptable.

With what happened to Gran Turismo 5, PoDi don't give us deadlines. It can be a bit frustrating for impatient but I think it's better that way!

Oh ok, for a moment then I thought GT6 was being commended on it's merits as a game, but it's just for sales achieved. Carry on folks, the world hasn't gone mental after all

It's an award given based on sales numbers alone. Along with GT6, other winners include an HD remake of two decade-old games, and a prologue to an upcoming one. It didn't win the User's Choice awards, which might be telling. However, GT5 did get nominated for the 20th anniversary award. Even if it didn't win, that in itself is noteworthy, as it's the only GT title to do so, as well as the only first-party game.

Which is quite unfair. Being it is the 20th anniversary, I think the first GT would have been a better nominee. It was the game that, 20 years ago, creating this big community that exists today.

Especially considering Driveclub suffers from ironically same fate as GT6. Even we still have to wait for PS4 update compared to its "competitor". Oh yeah and both have a high sales too.

I agree, GT6 was an enjoyable game. Best in the series in a long time and way better than GT5 IMO. They made a lot of great improvements with GT6 since launch. Lets hope they make some major improvements for GT7.

I've made my share of complaints about GT6 but it is a very good game nonetheless. My frustrations are primarily down to the near non-existent communication from PD. Even the blog is useless.

Still not having the Course Creator is very disappointing but it offers vastly more content and gameplay than virtually every other racing title.

Despite the game's (many, many) flaws, I'm still playing quite religiously. There's something about nailing a lap of a GP Circuit in a ridiculous looking 300SL with a top speed of 210mph that I just don't get from other games. And despite the instability, it's a great game to enjoy with a few friends online.

Basically it says that Kaz was not present at the awards and the writer of the article isn't smart enough to come up with any reasons other the gt7. Whahahaha I love this kind of journalism(if I may even call it journalism).

Maybe Kaz just got the flu or maybe he was enjoying a little time off, maybe he had work to do, maybe he didn't want to get out of bed, maybe he wanted to eat pancakes but was all out of eggs and to make a stop at the grocery store and therefore missed his plane, maybe he met a great girl and wanted to take her to paris......

Maybe he's in Las Vegas preparing for the "Playstaion Experience" event (where the Chaparral 2X VGT will be featured) on December 6th, since it'll be GT6's 1 year anniversary. Or maybe he was really working on GT7 or on how to get more than 1000 cars using more standard cars from past GT games, or maybe he was trying to get new cars for GT6 (or 7), who knows? maybe he just didn't feel like going.

EDIT: or maybe what the article in your link says, that sure would be nice to see what GT7 on PS4 would look like. Or maybe he's going to answer to all of our questions at the Playstation Experience.

You know, whats weird about GT6 (or GT series as a whole) is despite being a rather stagnant franchise, its still influences the competitors in some ways.

For example, no invincible walls in Willow Springs? Advertise Forza Horizon 2 (and later the crew) as "drive beyond roads!". GT6 Being generous with that TS030/Red Bull Ring patch? DLC free for Forza 5! (Track is still pay though).

Im not posting this for comparing Forza to GT6. Its just to show how GT still influences even for being stagnant. Also I know the first one has been featured in TDU2. But the way the competitor advertises made me suspicious.
