Playstation Eye, Need Help.

Last week, I picked up the PS Eye. Yesterday I tried using it, but had no success. I sat about 8 feet (about 2.5 meters) from my tele, and set all the bars in the PS Eye option menu to 10 (even the face recognition bar as I enclosed my face in the box). I also set the other two options to "Auto". I then went to Arcade mode, and took a premium car out to the TGTT in time trail mode. No matter how much I moved my head, nothing happened. Any idea what's happening here?

NOTE: Although the recommended distance from the PS Eye is 5-6.5 feet, 8 feet shouldn't be a problem, right?

NOTE: The PS Eye sees my head through the top half of my Driving Force GT. In other words, if you could see what my PS Eye sees, my head is below the top rung of the steering wheel, but above the mid-way point where my hands are.

Yes, in the cockpit view.

I may be wrong but i'm sure i read somewhere that the head tracking with the ps eye only works in arcade mode

Only works on Arcade mode, on easy setting. There is a menu to adjust it on settings.... There are a few good walkthroughs on youtube....
