You know the race when you get the new engine and you have to then race the guy in his Levin. I beat him and finish the race. But then the race just seems to start over again. Is there something special I have to do here?

I think it's stage 15 or 16?
yah there's something special about this stage. i've beat it a while ago, but from what i remember. you have to beat him twice or three times in a row.

the first race is like downhill, then the second is uphill, then downhill again. i believe this was it.
it confused me at first too. :) good luck with the game!

hey what'd you think was the hardest stage so far? [for the 86 at least.]

The story mode has been a breeze in comparison with the arcade mode. I'm almost at the end of the arcade mode, but i've got to beat some bastard who drives a turbo integra.

Thanks for the tip though. :)

a breeze eh? hehe. try the rx-7 ones! they're harder.
it's after you beat all the 86 ones, then you get the 2nd option which allows you to get the rx7 to race.

turbo integra? the Type R one?
and yah, arcade mode is harder.. but following the storyline is funner! :D

check your PM.

well this is in terms of running down mountains and not about just speed. the integra is just really good for all the different sharp turns, if you can handle it. There are, of course, faster cars in terms of just speed. But see, the games not all about that.

hey driftster, i like your car, MR2 [or sw-20] :D:tup:

Well the funny thing is, i'm well away that speed isn't the point of the touge, balance is. But Best MOTORing took a highly tuned Honda ITR (Hightly modded suspension wise), up against a lightly tuned S14 (Stock engine, some suspension mods) And the S14 beat it hands down...

I just bought Initial D Special Stage.....I find it really good ! But it cant compare with the arcade shifter....steering wheel......the style........I found out about Initial D through DDR. I always go n play ddr and I saw initial d their once so I thought why not .....now im hooked:D Lots of good people where I live (Vancouver) playing Initial D Ver.2 in the arcade. Anyone else play DDR?

what's DDR? and well the shifter problem is EASILY taken care of if you buy the steering wheel with shift. i personally got the madcatz one and this other one called twin turbo or whatever. they feel quite like the initial D one... but initial D is quite hard to play with the wheels [home ones] cuz they are a little different..

Yeah I personally just havent found a shifter and steering wheel for me. But I will look into the one u got ^.^ DDR= Dance Dance Revolution a game by Konami .....The game with the arrows (for most ppl who dont know the name) DDR is goin pretty big..I saw it on CNN the other day =D

ooh! DDR, then i know. i'm not used to the name DDR, but dance dance revolution i know :O. i got two dancing mats for it too! haha it's fun to play with when you're up to a beat

the twin turbo steering wheel, the pedals are kinda of awkward in my view, i don't like them, but the rest is quite good.

however, i personally like the madcatz one better as it has more force feedback and it just feels more of like a racing wheel. Also the design is better, pedals, and wheel format. However, only thing i don't like is the shift knob is kind of big...

there it is, but mines not pink, mines red.

Can anyone say for sure if Initial D Special Stage is available in the States or Canada??? Ive been looking just about everywhere and I still cant find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you did find it on the net from an American or Canadian site, please do tell! thank you

Yeah, you need either of those.

The only downside to playing the Japanese version is that you have no Idea what anybody is saying. Although most people won't really care because it's a racing game so why bother with the story line. Although if you have seen the Anime or read the Manga i'm sure you'll figure it out. I haven't so I have no Idea.

yup you're right race idiot... but you don't need a modded ps2 to play it, i don't think. Just get the game and it should work via the american ps2... but if you want a cheaper version and other games, then just mod your ps2 and go on with the games :p

yeah, it was pretty easy for me as i saw the anime and read some of the manga. I basically knew the whole storyline, so i didn't have to bother reading it.. however, if you haven't, just look at the pictures, i'm sure you'll get it.. it's not THAT hard to understand

Guy talks, says that you suck and then you race. :D

I love those two Fat people with their S15, they always laugh at your car and then you just kick there arse.

Trust me, you can't play Japanese games on a standard American console. If that was true, I would be able to play my American copy of Xenosaga without having to chip my machine as well.

Oh, maybe you're right.. i wouldn't know; since mines already modded the first day i got it!

and yep, that's what they say and then you kick their arse hard!

hey race idiot, how far are you in the game?

Well in legend of the street mode, i'm pretty sure i'm near the end. I have to race the person with the Integra (name?) for the second time, on this really hard course. Recently i've been racing my 3 cars in time trial mostly and because GT3 is taking most of my Gaming time again.

If you look in the other Initial D thread, you can see pictures of the cars I have.

why not use the original AE86!

Is that in reference to the Trueno picture that I posted?

I thought it would be funny to add random parts to the car, because I did chose the Initial D looking version. But I decided to add a few crazy things onto it for a laugh.

you did?
hmm.. isn't the lights supposed to be covered too? yours only covers up to the lights, which i think is version B rather than A....

You can't play original imported games but there's nothing saying you can't burn a backup of the original (which you own so everything is nice and legal) and then performing one of the many swap methods on your PS2, that's how I play it on my PAL machine. Try searching the net for flip top lid and swap magic.
