Portal is a godsend for summer gaming. Way too warm to use the PS5 in the bedroom. Instead I can sit in the garden and play.

Just need to run an extension cord outside to charge it - the battery life isn’t the greatest, but a small sacrifice.

I really want that anniversary Portal. There's nothing wrong with my base one but it still might get sold if i can grab that new lovely grey beauty.

Saw(but didn't read) an article about PS Portal users reporting data is quicker because of their PS5P. Anyone experience any difference in gaming linking their PSPo to PS5P?

If anyone wants to buy me a Pro I'll test it out.

The Pro does have the new wi-fi 7 standard (6 on original) so it stands a chance it could be faster. It partly depends on what the Portal has I suppose

"PS5 Pro supports Wi-Fi 7, so you can enjoy more usable bandwidth to increase transfer speeds (46Gbs) with your compatible router, which means you can experience reduced latency and boosted stability when playing online."

Tried out the streaming beta. Much quicker to get a connection than xCloud and seems more stable - less drops in IQ and frame rate. Catalogue is still a bit limited at the moment.

If the future of console gaming really is streaming it might not be a disaster.

This is big. Now I don't have to leave my PS5 in rest mode when I'm away from home, can just connect directly to the PS servers from the Portal. Sadly GT7 is not yet included in the supported titles (My First Gran Turismo is - would that be the first official portable GT since the PSP?).

This is all paving the way for the handheld device that'll launch with (or shortly after) the PS6. It also means you can join the Playstation ecosystem without actually buying a Playstation console, and without waiting up to 2 years for PC releases.
