Not that I’m advocating getting completely bladdered but I had the same initial sickness when I tried VR and thought I’d never overcome it but I tried it after a few bottles of beer and it was much more comfortable and by increasing my playing time bit by bit I got used to it quite quickly and can now happily play for hours in VR both flying in MSFS 24 and many racing sims😂🍺👍🏼

It’s getting even more tempting isn’t it? If I knew VR games would live on, gt8/9 etc then I’d probably dive in but it’s still too expensive to have for just one game, maybe aces of thunder too.

It’s still a big Mmmmm…. For me

Is it perfect? No. Can you take mine away? Only over my cold dead body. 🤣

For those on the fence, I was. Now it is the biggest improvement to GT7 you can ever make.

I just hope this announcement leads to more VR commitment in GT7 to fix the few issues we do have.

550$ here in Canada at Costco and Best Buy for the Horizon bundle. Very tempting... I haven't seen it on sale without that game yet. Maybe it'd be 50$ cheaper?

It's amusing and also sad that GT7 is such a great advert for the headset, pretty much the only reason you should get one, and it's not mentioned at all on that page. No footage in that "feel a new real" VR promo video.

Some interesting games upcoming. Console VR not dead quite yet:

unless you want new driving/racing games, in which case yeah it's deceased.

I still got hope. There are several sim racing gmes coming to consoles some day.
I hope Ac Evo, Project Motor Racing, LeMans Ultimate will have psvr2 support (at least one of them)
We didn’t get too much flat sim racing games on consoles either

Ok. Not completely dead - I forgot about Exo Cars (if FH is a sim, so is this )

As for the others, fingers crossed I guess (that's if LMU even gets a console release)

It is confirmed to be on consoles. Question is, if it will be fro psvr2.
It's not confirmed yet. The devs said they were considering it but it depends on funding and finding someone to do the porting.

Looks very good. This & GT7 almost makes it worth buying the headset.

A bit soon to mention PSVR3 but HDMI 2.2 has just been certified and can do 16k/60fps or uncompressed 4k/240fps ranges amongst others. This seems the ultimate path for VR and Gran Turismo, hopefully sometime into PS6 this is the standard we can look forward to. AMD UDNA for next gen consoles is said to support HDMI 2.2 standard.
PSVR2 could also be revised to HDMI 2.2 perhaps, allowing for a doubling of bandwidth to maximise its OLED display if it isnt already maxed out with HDMI 2.1 i dont know. Remember the PSVR was updated to a different specification for HDMI connections.

I doubt Sony will do anything for PSVR at this point. Lets just hope ps6 will support it and we will get new vr games

Yeah. Ain't no way Sony will build a new VR headset.

Owners of either the M2 or M5 Vision Pro can pair the device with spatial accessories. The Sony PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller, which enables VR games like Elu Legend, Pickle Pro, Ping Pong Club, and Spatial Rifts and can be used to navigate visionOS in lieu of hand tracking, will cost $249.95 and be available November 11.

I means that’s more than half the cost of the whole PSVR2 package? Surely that can’t be right?

Edit: Talking about the Sense controller

Valve Index controllers are $280 so it probably is right, and as the headset is $3500 they probably think any potential buyers won’t have an issue with the price point.

A good way for Sony to make some money from some of the unsold stock.

Haven't Polyphony already posted jobs that require VR knowledge for future projects? For me that would almost confirm PSVR3.
Hope this is true and they can up the resolution, keep the OLED and have aspheric or pancake lens for sharpness. Of course you'll need a PS6 to drive them. Call it the PSVR Pro. If they can sell a Pro controller for $200 why not a higher grade PSVR with more pro features?

Yes, I can dream, right......?

The only thing that confirms is that they will continue to support PSVR2.

For Sony PSVR2 was a monumental flop.

No way they they’ll ever pour millions into R&D for a new headset at this point.

Maybe the next PlayStation will support 3rd party headsets, but as far as pouring money into VR goes Sony is 100% out.
