I personally have had the most fun online racing in GTS to date than I have had in years. It's a little less serious than the "sims" and more serious than previous similar titles, with a *really* nice online experience. Met loads of cool people and had a blast.

Can't wait to rock the Alfa in the (FIA?) Manufacturers Championship soon. Already signed!

When I'm actually in a race it's great, but I went into Sport last night and was about 10 mins from that tedious N200 oval borefest and ages from the others starting. It was seriously about 45 mins until the next Gp.3 race started. Times like that, I really need some offline content to go back to!

why not racing in the GR.4?? they are way better than the oval stuff. :)

Lobby mode! Find a room that claims to only accept clean racers, Gr.3, ideally with BoP ON. Ace fun.

If you're lucky they'll have it setup so pitstops and fuel management are important, it gets really interesting then. Pit twice or run lower revs and use other fuel maps and pit once? It's pretty smart.

Dabbled in Sport mode but I won't be doing Daily (Weekly) races much, I'll be more of a Championship guy. Lobby mode for daily races for me :)

Yup, I'm loving the online racing, but I think we need a bit more variety in the events.

I also think the realism level of GTS is very well suited for online gaming. It takes a lot of skill to master, but it's not so hardcore that it takes hours of practice just to be able to safely get a particular car around a particular track.

From having GT5, GT6 and now GT:S, I think I was more excited about the GT5 and GT6 initial releases, I absolutely loved that zero to hero start in a slow car and work your way up in the car performance ranks. Cars needing repairs and needed washing was really nice and I loved some of the many vintage cars. I do miss all that in GT:S.

However the graphics, the sound, the presentation, scapes, the livery editor, the menu music, the online racing and even the driver school AKA license tests all have been improved significantly. So having the choice currently between playing GT6 on my PS3 or GT:S on my PS4 Pro I would say I prefer the latter. But I sure hope the game will receive a constant flow of updates: more tracks, more classic cars, Super GT, more career races. But that zero to hero feeling will be lost forever though...

I like the basis of GT:S we have now, let’s hope it will receive a lot of future content.

IF GTS can do these, then it will be complete sim on console :

1. Eliminate ghosting ( too arcadey )
2. Player can control the car on rolling start like iracing
3. Hide players name and put them into small blackbox
4. Gearbox protection from rapid downshift

My favourite GT game in terms of offline gameplay is still GT4, but when taking online functions into account, I'd say it's GT5 (which improved quite a bit with updates).

The level of polish in GT:Sport is amazing compared to GT5 & 6 and when I find a nice clean online sport race it’s does what it sets out to perfectly.

GT4 is still my favourite ever GT game but when that game came out I was young and had a huge amount of time to spend on grinding for credits etc.
I would still love more single player content for GT Sport but what’s already there is very polished and reminds me of the golden era GT games on the PS2.

There's no ghosting on S rank.

For me, it would need more cars, tracks, and a single player career mode to top any of the previous games. GT4 is my favorite in the series and it would take a modern recreation of that to top it. If Forza 7 can have a ton of cars and tracks that look fairly good, I think it could be done with GT as well.

This is actually a fantastic reason why the game needs a solid single player mode. They could even put in notifications to let you know an online race is coming up so you could jump out of your single player game.

Yeah, the Gr.4 race was an option, but I'd just won the M4 and done a livery for it, which I quite wanted to use in the race, so then I got to deal with this joy instead!...

It's not perfect by any means atm but I am loving sport mode, the racing has been cleaner than what I've experienced in Forza Motorsport hoppers over the years.

It's very hard for me to judge it like that. I mean when i first played GT1 and GT2 a whole new world of gaming opened up to me. It laid the entire foundation of my interest in racing today. So that's not something I can look away from when I answer your question.

Objectively GT Sport is the most entertaining GT I've played to date, but subjectively some of the earlier GT games have had a bigger impact on me.

GT1 opened up the world of modifications for me, GT2 expanded on that and introduced so many cars I would later discover IRL, I remember GT3 as great physics, that my first race I could feel the car transferring weight to the front wheels under braking, something that was still just theory for me, and I had not experienced this in any other game at the time.

So GTS had much to live up to, though imho doesn't try to be groundbreaking in those competitive areas that many racing games are good at, but it completly introduced me to online racing, I have only tried a few big online games, HON (like LOL) being the one I spend the most time on. This is a great way to be introduced to online racing - and while I completed school/ missions in the first 2 weeks, it still holds some offline content for me in obtaining gold for everything. I can't spend the hours on a game that I used to, I love that I can still pick up and play straight away, and still get rewarded with better lap times online by playing the same track a few times.

Personally, I detest comparing this game to earlier GT titles in an attempt to gauge it's "goodness". It's a completely different ball-game this time around.

I prefer GT5 over GTS, but only when I'm in a certain anti-social mood and not looking for online racing, which is very rarely.

I do.

But then I rarely race offline in games anymore.

I usually race online in PCars 2 or Assetto Corsa. However now I pretty much mainly play GTS. My main reason for that is that there’s always a somewhat decent race around when using the sport mode.

Generally I find in PCars 2 and AC that while the driving is superior it’s time consuming to find a decent game unless you have a lot of buddies that play.

I do wish tracks changed more often though but it’s a pet peeve. I’ve noticed in the past I often go to my “safe” tracks when playing online. This game is actually helping me learn some of those I’ve avoided in the past.

Early days though so hard to judge before maybe 6-months a year ha passed.

I've done that 6 times now i'm glad they focus on online now more exciting

Was having some thought about what I'd personally like in a forum, and realised this thread is like a "I like GTS, who's with me?" thread with no expected goal or possible resolution. It's of absolutely no benefit to readers in general, other than for them to know certain people like or don't like the game. Was reading about Echo Chambers (which was a result of looking into the Facebook filter bubble thing) and it made me think of this thread. The aim is for everyone to agree with me, which is a bit silly. So I'm trying to lead by example :D .
