Please help save Castle Combe Circuit!

What will happen is that some of the land the circuit is built on, probably the paddock area with the best access, will either be developed into a low-rent industrial park which will create more constant noise, or developed into a modern housing estate - both of which will increase traffic to the area. At this point, those who are now complaining about the noise of the circuit will decide the area has gone down hill and will relocate elsewhere.

Just to add, they'll probably relocate to somewhere near Donington. Or Oulton Park. Or Brands Hatch.

If you search for Brands Hatch on Google Maps, you'll see that there's a housing estate where some houses practically back onto the circuit. I've never heard of those residents ever complaining.
 
Yeah, look at Combe and it's literally accessed by travelling through a housing estate. Unfortunately another local location is in danger - Kemble Airfield. Again due to noise, the NIMBY's are trying to reduce all air traffic to recreational only (small scale recreational aircraft)
 
13927 members, just thought I would bring the thread back to attention to people who may have missed it, but are interested in saving this great race track.
 
castle combe is fine and doesnt need saving.this petition is a couple of years old and castle combe got it sorted out over a year ago and isnt shutting down :).

In my defense it has only recently been posted up here and I hadn't heard of it previously.

just one of those internet things thats doing the rounds again,this did go as far as court (the noise thing) but the judge threw it out saying if you want to live somewhere quiet dont move next to a race track.
