It has already been definitively shown that what is commonly called 'bumper cam' is IN FACT, exactly the same perspective as cockpit cam. Only the entire field of view is shown, not the artificially restricted view that cockpit cam forces (get in any real car, and notice how much MORE you can see without even moving your head, just your eyes).

For all of those eschewing it because they don't want to imagine that their eyeballs are attached to the bumper, you have been misinformed.

It is REALLY 'hood cam' but with an invisible hood. I wish that the hood were in view, so judging where the wheels are was less guesswork...

What do YOU think we should start to call this view?

Good luck with getting people to change.
It's been called bumper cam nearly always and will probably stay that way.

'Bumper cam' because so many people already call it that.

Exactly. Is it really hurting you for people to call it this when while your in this mode, you see absolutely no part of the car. Sounds like a descent enough description to me. At least you know what they are referring to.

It's bumper cam.
How is it the same as cockpit cam?
It's lower for a start, lower where the bumper is.
Hence the name bumper cam.

And why does bumper cam noticeably drop when hard braking (as the shocks take the load and the bumper drops)? :sly:

Is it because the cam is located on the bumper? :sly:

Reasons why I call it bumper cam (also no wipers on the bumper :dopey:) :)

How is it the same as cockpit view when the cockpit view is always off center to one side or the other (with the obvious exception of Formula cars and a few other center seat cars) where the steering wheel is, and the "bumper cam" or whatever you want to call it is in a perfect centerline of the vehicle? Not attempting to be rude, I'm trying to understand your logic here.

... Yeah, I'm not convinced this discussion is worth keeping open. In fact, I'm not convinced there's a discussion to be had here at all. Certainly not one that hasn't been had already.
