Please support the no mercy event

I know that many of you have spent alot of time on the Suzuka circuit over the last months and might be open for a change in track. however i really really hope you will support this event while it is out there, being the only one without RubberBandEffect

I (and many with me) think that these races are without a doubt the best and most realistic way of racing. we are afraid that if the event has few participants it could be a one time thing. SO IF YOU LIKE IT PLEASE USE IT WHILE WAITING FOR THE NEXT UPDATE.
i struggled a bit in the start, going from R-tyres in races to S2 was a bit slippery at first. but oh so fun when you get the hang of it. If you like the idea of no RBE in the expert races, but would like some more tire choice, please write about it in this thread or even send an e-mail to PD. I feel it would be a great improvement to the races with tire choice also to have NO RBE. Its so annoying when the car handling changes without having tire wear in the game(for the time being i hope)

The T&L crew would prefer if we could have the no mercy kind of events as an option on every track. some with S tires and some with only pp restriction.

I HOPE YOU GUYS WHO LIKE NOT HAVING RBE IN THE RACES WILL TOUGH IT OUT AND STAY IN THESE EVENTS TO SHOW PD THAT THEY ARE ON THE RIGHT WAY, even if you get tired of the same track....

As i am aware of there are 2 events running now.
- 650pp event
- 600pp event rear wheel drive only.

I've done my bit by not competing in any other events, than Suzuka or Fuji :)
 
I have to agree! No Mercy has been awesome! Although I havent done my fair share in it as other games like Motorstorm 2 & COD - WAW have come out.

When the online update came I was over the moon that no RBE was in. We could see what racers could really do. Now Im back into the racing I can see once again this is by far the best race.

Without RBE it adds that pressure into each race. If you mess up, with 5 laps in a race, its nearly over for you!

Also seems the punters have f'ed off this event aswell. Seems like they cant handle a race where RBE doesnt pull them along.

Thanks PD for adding this in and PLEASEEEE make all expert races like these!
 
No Mercy is the only thing i do, when i am free to do so, no RBE gives you a true idea on 1. How much talent you have/have not got. 2.How good/bad your car set-up is, Im usually the latter in both points
 
I have been doing my part - at least 8 races a night at Suzuka and i am still not tired of it(the family might be!)
 
Whilst i love the attraction of no RBE, Suzuka for me is my nemesis, sorry guys but i hate this circuit, i can never do well there, why i dont know? now if it were at Fuji no problems i love that track and certain others, we should have had the option of no RBE at all tracks.
 
Thanks for posting this Rune, I agree that if people are in favour of this kind of event then by all means try to support it. Obviously if people aren't in favour of no RBE and dislike Suzuka, it's not fair to ask them to dedicate their play time to it.

I for one fully support it, and have been doing 99% of my racing here. 650PP, 600PP, Sixaxis championship, all Thunder & Lightning events, especially the Star Wars one that's happening soon...

well we have had a full grid off 600pp cars at no mercy a few times tonight. The 600pp races died out last week as there were only a couple racing every night but it looks like it's going to be busy again as we will be having a war with the Empire and Rebelion in a few weeks so there will be plenty of Lotus Evoras and Elises flying about.

Most of the time I'm at the no mercy event. I'm only switching between Fuji Ferrari and the no mercy Suzuka lately.
Noticed a lack of ( wel ... kind of) tagged drivers since a few weeks. Sometimes there are some punters, but most of the time it's clean racing out there and great fun.
Hope that there will be more No mercy races in the future.
 
The No mercy event is deffinatley the way forward for PD. It has been a sensation in my book. I have flitted in and out over the past week, but it now has my full attention.

In a way it has reduced the risk of been in contact with punters as by the end of the first lap you have usually left them all behind you, and they have no way of coming back at you.

PD need to make all events like this if they truly believe this to be a driving simulator.
 
KY said that they had RBE to make for interesting and close races. Well, RBE only makes it interesting for punters. If you want to refine your driving skill and/or your car setup AND AT THE SAME TIME compare it to others, only a RBE free race allws you to do it.

Besides, it's gratifying to close in on the cars ahead and know that it's you, not the game, that makes that happen.


In all, the lack of RBE makes you drive better, learn more about yourself and the car. To call PRO event to a race with RBE is wrong.

Get voting people, No RBE is on the list.
 
It's hard to support an event when nobody is online at all during your time zone, even harder when the latest PSN update means that when someone is online, you get a failed to connect >50% of the time. Harder still when GT5:P is really getting stale now and you'd rather play golf instead.
But I agree, if I'm going to race, RBE should not be there.
 
As you now Rune, I totally support this.

I also would like If a native english wrote a "official" tekst for me to copy into my mail to PD. It should contain a thank you for the great game, and for turning of RBE. Let it be a real race simulator in expert level and continue with the RBE turned of in every expert event.

Yes. Nice thread. 👍 All expert/PRO events should definetely be without RBE. No doubt about that.
 
Well done Rune!👍.The Rubber Band Effect Also known as (RBE)has no friends in the Pro/expert events,and should be kept that way now that PD has shown us they can turn it off.I do still think that it should be left on in the Beginners events,as we all had to start somewhere:nervous:.
 
Totally agree! Expert mode and RBE shouldn´t mix.
 
I think its fair to say I have supported the No Mercy event. I love it, now if PD can bring us a 600pp RWD only No mercy, even better. :)
 
Well we've been doing 600pp RWD No mercy and yeah, it's been fun but mostly because it's meant we've not been mixing with ''the others''.

If it became open to all, we'd then probably be doing 550pp and still waiting 20seconds!

I'd just like all expert races to be without RBE.
 
I have not race any other than no mercy. Why go back to RBE when i dont need to:) I also want 600 RWD from PD, yes i like it because of less punters, but mainly because of the really fun handling of f430:tup:
 
I remember I used to be able to keep up with HyperUK around Suzuka in the 430, but by the sounds of it you and HyperUK have made quite a gap.

I still can't get into the 12's!

I think it's definately a wheel and pedals kind of car?...
 
Wheel is an advantage. You steer almost more with throttle so i think its a very wheel friendly car. You are among the fastest with pad though! I struggle with 2.15 with pad.
 
No RBE anymore EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Despite the fact I don’t like the S tires races.

I tend to run the 350Z tuned 600pp as i find thee is no diffs kicking in or electronics kicking in dispite the fact that TSC and ASM or off and there for control sides better. plus is slow off the line so i start last and have to battle through the pack while still havingthe slowest car in a straight line. Passing is not easy but catching up is having faith, like from spoon until the S's i loose quite a bit buti know once i hit the S's i will gain all the way til the hairpin and then again through spoon. how iv run the f430 and its faster in a line but slower in the turns but strangely i found it even harder to pass other f430's.
Anyway see you out there. ;)

Update for Friday states that RBE will be remaoved from all Expert Events.

Looks like the message has got through guys.

This is ane of the best thing PD could of done.
