I am having problems with the button configuration on gran turismo 5!!! I am using a controller not a steering wheel and i cannot get the configuration right so that i can use r1 and r2 for the brake and accelerator please help me, thanks

Are you changing the settings for Controller 1, and actually saving it rather than just exiting the menu?

Make sure you have applied the settings and check if you aren't changing the arcade configuration. You might as well double check if its set as default, and if it stays like that when you close the settings and open them again.
