PLUS Version of PS2 + ????

I went to get a PS2 from the store today, and I noticed that they had some systems with a yellow plus (+) on the box a few places, and some versions that didn't. What is different about the plus version?

that one has no i-link port , yet it it has an infared sensor, so you dont need to plug one in when you use the dvd remote.
