I recently heard a rumour about Pod is going to make a comeback in GT5, maybe in a newer fashion? ( It was in GT Concept?)

Anyone know anything about this, this just got me thinking if its in GT4 maybe this is not a rumour?

I doubt it. The only Gran Turismo game to feature the Toyota POD was GT Concept 2002, they never included it in GT4P, GT4 or GTPSP. I would like it to return to the GT series in the future, it was quite wacky to drive that thing.

Sorry I forgot to post link to video lol

I loved this car, don't mean to sound gay but I thought it was cute and wanted to smash the car to pieces yay!

Thanks for the flashback. I forgot about those..:O:lol:

If they have in-car-view, I'm game.

Sorry I don't know if there coming to GT5 or 6..

I miss those Polyphony 001 and Polyphony 002 F1 cars, I wish they brought them and the US and Japan versions all to GT5 for all . .

Polyphony 002 was Turbocharged right, like the old F1 cars, what a shame they aren't in GT5

I found that it makes a 'cat purring' sound in the Youtube link above
Looks rather funny to me :D

If it's brought back to GT5 (which will have a super-small chance), I'm okay with it :)

Honestly, I think it looks like an oversized salt shaker with wheels.
I did like racing them though, but there are other things that deserve a passage into GT5.

WTF?? :/ That's the damndest looking fugly thing on wheels. But then GT5 has the Subaru 360 so I guess the POD is not really so bad.

Here's something from wiki.
Wikipedia
The Toyota Pod was a concept car created by Toyota in collaboration with Sony. The Pod was first shown at the October 2001 Tokyo Motor Show. The Pod was unique as it was designed with artificial intelligence systems built in to make the car appear more personal.

The Pod was much like a living being due to the artificial intelligence programmed into it. The featured a screen inside with Sony-created software running on it, capable of creating shopping lists and running music and radio. The car could also judge the attitude and mood of the driver based on their reactions and how they are driving, and could offer advice on how to improve their current mood. The seats inside are like stools which could freely spin and rotate. On the exterior, the Pod could express its own feelings with coloured LEDs - red for anger, yellow for happy, blue for sad - and an antenna that wags, much like a dog's tail. The Pod was designed as a "car of the future" and hence was never put into production.

The Pod was featured in the game Gran Turismo Concept and had an exclusive race to itself. A new track - using segments from the Clubman Stage Route 5 course - was created which involved 6 Pods driving through the pitlane backwards before stopping in a special area for several seconds before being allowed to resume racing.

And here I Am thinking that the I-MiEV is epic. This is the most epic thing I've seen! Between the odd looking POD and that big jump at the end of that Special Stage track, I can't choose which is more epic. I really hope they bring this back to GT5, maybe even as Premium!
