Gentlemen,

The time has come to clean up the GT4 forum and turn it into the premier spot for GT4 drifting. The GT3 forum was regarded as having good members and a place to find some of the most knowledgeable GT3 drifters on the web. The staff at GTPlanet want the GT4 section to exceed that.

As you've all noticed, the forum has been a bit overrun with nonsense. As much as the moderators have been able to handle, we've got a lot to handle. So, much like the GT3 forum, we're promoting a drifter to a moderator position. However, we're not going to pick someone, you are. Yes, the staff at GTplanet has the final say, but we're asking all of you to nominate the people of your choice.

Based on dedication to GTPlanet, time spent here, quality of contribution to GTP, and ability as a drifter is how the person will be selected. This is not a popularity contest, as the person who does get selected will be given the monumental task of righting this ship. He will get solid support from me, and the other members, but for the most part, he'll be swinging the heavy hammer.

No, you cannot nominate yourself nor can you nominate more than one person. Keep in mind, I can track IP addresses. Should you decide to register a fake account and nominate yourself or make multiple accounts and nominate many people, it'll make me unhappy.

As the members get nominated, I will them into this post. If a member gets nominated that does not wish to be nominated they can easily drop me a PM and I'll remove his name.

Nominations end Friday, March 11th.

Current Nominations:
MdnIte
Swift
Ryosuke_Gumna
nightkids4ever
Slurp
Ryen49
Omnis
Bryan C.
Suzuki
Sheron
Delphic Reason
Thio

Good luck,

AO

Maybe Swift or TankSpanker?? I'll vote on them being helpfull, but isn't this a bit early, meaning that Europe hasn't got the game yet, and so many don't have ANY quality with drifting in GT4 because of that:irked:

While that is true, please remember that we added the note in about dedication to GTP and length of time here at GTP. Chances are, if they've just started drifting with the release of GT4, they've not been a member with a long standing reputation.

We knew that the European release isn't out yet, but also realized that if we waited until two weeks after the PAL release, we'd be swimming in random, repeated and badly edited posts.

And you'll have to nominate just one of the other.

This surely is a toughy.... nominating the ideal person, and the job that lies ahead... I will have to think this through... and will post my nomination after carefull consideration..

Maybe Swift and Tank-Spanker wanna say themselves, if they actually want to, cause I can't choose

B.t.w. der alta, you WOULD be a bit late then, I realise..............

Surely Delphic Reason is the right man.

But I nominate Swift. I talk to him often, he's a nice guy, and very clever. Just have a look at the superb guide made with TankSpanker.

Everyone you guys mentioned would be ideal moderators. I havent seen DR since ive returned to the boards so maybe he's too busy to be a Mod? I know Swift from the GT3 and IDM boards, he always seems to keep his cool and is always helpful even if you ask the simplest of questions. And if you make a mistake like posting a question thats been posted 100 times before he doesnt bite your head off, he is very polite to let you know to not do it again.

The best man for the job, hands down - BreakerOhio, that guys is my the best man for the job 👍

He knows how to post, drift, and well he's good at it. 👍

BTW, just to make it easier on Der Alta, you all might want to put your nominations in bold. 👍

I'll nominate Tankspanker. I talk to the guy outside of the forums, and he is very reliable. Keeps track of other happenings on the forum, knowledgable, level headed, easy to understand, has a sense of humor (all to important when being a mod I think), and would just be a good choice. The only issue is if he has the time...

i'm guessing voting will take place at some other time...

what if the nominations dont want to moderate? lol. those who i would select are already up there anyway, so i guess there is no point in nominating someone twice.

Ok third post in like five minutes.

For all those who didn't know already, I am who once posted as Street Fighter.

Yes, I was banned (for good), but Der Alta gave me another chance.

He wouldn't have done so without reason.

I have been actively watching and posting since 2003.

I have also applied for moderator status in the past.

Also, with reason.

To use my abundance of spare time and (increasingly) good will to serve those who appreciate this great service that has been given to us at not cost, and who expect no less; and especially those who support Jordan's cause with money from their own pockets.

Being a notable moderator is the least I can do.

Ryen49
As a forum veteran I would love to be nominated.. :)

I know Ryen has a strong passion for drifting, keeping up with GTP, and he is reiable, provides good feedback, and when I need to get a hold of him I can. I think he would do a good job as a mod because of these attributes so I nominate Ryen. :)

Right now I don't think I can be a reliable mod because of the time constraints I have with the activities I am in. So I would say please remove me from the nomination list. Thanks.

Thank you for the nominations RX7FC and Sheron. I appreciate it.

thank you for the nomination Azuremen, it is much appreciated.

However, I do not feel that I am as deserving of this position as other members that have since been nominated. I'm a relatively new face here on GTP, and have only been actively posting for about 4 months. I know for a fact that some of the other candidates have been waiting for an opportunity like this for a considerable length of time, and have contributed considerably more to the community as a whole than I have.

Also, due to the quickening pace of my university studies, and the possibility of being relocated for a summer job, I do not feel it would be fair to the GTP community to leave myself in the running.

I would like to withdraw myself from the vote and wish the other candidates the best of luck.

Swift
Thank you for the nominations RX7FC and Sheron. I appreciate it.

Well Swift, since you appear to volunteer for this and TankSpanker wouldn't rather be in it, I'll nominate you and thank you in general, because of your "helpfull'ness" or something if that word doesn't exsists;):D

People, just don't advertise yourself to be voted as a mod. I'm sure lot's of people want to do this, so keep it fair, cause I've already seen someone been voted for this:indiff: Just keep the decisions to the persons themselves and just wait for the results, thanks
