Should the "Car Acquired Screen" be kept or be rid of?
It's the screen that appears saying "do you want to use now" with a "Yes" and "No" option.
The screen that comes up EVERY SINGLE TIME you get a car.
I think it needs to go, it was a nice touch, but now that we are buying loads of cars now, it wastes a lot of time altogether.
Your thoughts on this?

The Car Delivery is what needs to be taken out. What's the problem in just winning the car and having it show up in the garage? It's a waste of time for the players.

Tickets would work the same way, just go to the parts list. You're not opening a specific car ticket, you're opening a ticket that gives you a random car. Which is somewhat different.

Thank god we don't get our cars transported to the truck every time we buy one though.

It always gives me a wry smile that you have to confirm "Do you want to use this car?" (why wouldn't you!?!?) yet you can restart a race without so much as a confirmation dialogue in sight!

I for one buy a lot of used cars just for the purpose of collecting and perhaps using them one day but not at the moment. It's a lot less hassle to just answer "No" than to change into that car, go to the garage and change back to what I was using before.

Agreed about the Car Delivery though. I have 35 tickets just sitting there because I have no use for the cars in question and can't be bothered to redeem them.

It would be a lot less hassle if the car just went to our garage.
Then we could change into them later.

Yes, the cars should just go into your garage like they would in any game made by sane people. I don't need to see a fancy animation every single time that takes an age to load either side.

Also annoying is when you buy a car and then it throws you back out to the main menu. Did they not think that people might want to buy more than one car at a time?

This annoys me also especially when I see 5 or so cars I would like to buy from the ucd it seems to take forever.

It's been a similar design, from the first game. I can't see a poll on gtplanet making much of a difference. Not to say its good or bad though.

But there's more cars to acquire than ever before.
So say we wanted 1000 cars, we have to sit through 1000 of those screens?

What's interesting here is that by the responses, some people would prefer it to assume "yes" they do want to use that car straight away, whereas with Standards, for me at least, 99% of the time it would be "no", as I don't line up an event and then go into the UCD to find an appropriate car, I collect the used cars for use at a later date.

As for the "delivery" animation I always thought this was something it showed whilst it was loading/saving, though i'm not sure why it would need to do so, in data terms you either own the car or you don't.

They could easily fix it so that when you buy a used car it doesn't always dump you straight out of the UCD though, it should put you back where you were, ie. IN the UCD. Then there should be easy shortcuts to navigate to wherever else (as there were in some of the previous games)...but that's another story I guess.

Maybe we could have an option to have it always select yes or no.

It would appear so. As I said there are things that are good and things that are bad. Like buying cars, it would be easier to go to the ucd, tick a box to select your required cars, confirm, then they all appear in your garage. That's what should happen. With a nice animation to show all the selected cars driving into a garage.

Not you buy one car, confirm yes, confirm to drive it, return to main screen, then back in and do it all again.

Not much we can do about it now.

How about nagging Kazunori on Twitter :D

I hate Twitter, its the modern version of muttering to yourself. Who wants to know if I've just had a biscuit or coffee, no one, the same as I don't want to know about anybody else having a biscuit or coffee.

I can't remember who reviewed gt5 (might have been ign) and said its a 10 out of 10 simulator in a 5 out of 10 game. This is about spot on, if any other racing game had a interface like this one it would have flopped big time, but because the physics and driving experience is near perfect, they have just got away with it.

I got Twitter just to get updates on GT5.

Get rid of it for sure.
The Truck also should be optional, and the most annoying thing is that every time that you buy a car it returns you back to Home screen...that makes me mad.

I've been saying this to myself for years...PD can't make video games! don't get me wrong, I love GT5 and I've loved every GT before it, but what I love about them is the physics, the graphics, the cars...you know, all the racing aspects.

I wish that they would leave everything else to someone else. sort of like a joint venture.

The menus - awful to navigate...horrible decisions made here. do they even play video games? just copy someone else for crying out loud...

The event selection - been talked about too much already, you know whats wrong with it...

The exp and leveling up - gain levels waaay too fast in the beginning and way too much grinding in the end. It is supposed to be a progression to keep things interesting, always something to work for but still within reach. PD throws the first 90% of the game at you for nothing, and then punishes you to get the rest...wtf?

Online - I don't think I need to say much here...If you think they have done a good job of online then this must e the first game you have ever played online. I know it was their first try...but they only had 6 years to see what the competition was doing and try to replicate/out-do them...

Tons more examples but u get the idea...racing is PD's forte...video games are not. Let Sony bring in someone that will redesign these aspects and let PD focus on racing and cars...then maybe the game would only take 4 years to make...:indiff:

Get rid of it. And the car delivery nonsense. GT4 was much better and if it wasn't broke, why fix it?

Yup, it needs to go. Or at least have an option to choose not to show the message again. Also theres no need to tell me what paint I just received after that.

I think PD may have tried to over complicate things in an attempt to be awesome.
Things were good the way they were before 👍

They were afraid to keep things simple, but ended up being over-complicated and irritating.

Yeah, they tried to include fresh new ideas.
In the end, it turned out not user friendly at all and the loading screens are frustratingly long.

Id like to see the Lorry / truck scrapped altogether. Just put the car straight in my garage and ill decide if I want to use it when the time comes. 99.9% of the time I dont want to use the gift car since its useless for anything but the event Ive just won it from.

Then we'll complain about them being lazy and copying other games when they should have been innovative.

I say nerf it. It's more realistic yes, but sometimes realism should take a backseat to simplicity and usability.

I wouldn't complain. There is a reason why most good video games have similar menu styles (obviously they look different but function the same). It is because they work...and work well.

Just like how most websites, while being graphically different, function the same...I don't complain when I come to GTP. "hey wtf...this forum works the same as the other 10,000 forums I have been on...why can't they make it fresh and confusing with really long loading times? I want to have to click through multiple dialog boxes before I can post each message!"

Ya...you won't see me saying that...

Familiarity and simplicity are good 👍

I like the screen. Maybe it's because I've only lately started buying lots of cars. It's nice to see the newly acquired machine with lights on and everything. Just makes me smile for some reason.
