The reason I ask is that I run a same car event using just the Recommended cars (click here), & in all the time I've been running it, the most we've ever had on tack at any one time is 14! Surely there must be more clean, competent, & conscientious drivers, out of the 190,000 odd members here on GT Planet that like doing the same?

:odd: :boggled:

I wish I could find rooms with same cars, appropriate tires (usually sports medium for my tastes), and good, clean racing. Rare but with enough time I find a room. By then I had elite time left to enjoy it. :(

I like it. Nice moments with the mustang gt premium @ trail moutain reverse. Its more a soft drift show car than a car that is fast but is a enjoyable moment indeed. But I cant take some japaneae car options, like hondas prelude and civics, and some skylines,.

I like to host recommended rooms sometimes. A grid of HKS cars at Monza gets quite tricky...

This is the best type of racing online IMO. Consistently provides extremely close and exciting racing. You need clean drivers to make it work though since the cars are so closely matched.

I'll be hosting a 10 race endurance series using 10 different cars and 10 different tracks starting in a few weeks. If you're interested just keep an eye on the racing league section.

I personally like them myself. It's good to drive some totally stock cars that have stats pretty much exactly as they're meant to be... (and technically speaking to get exact stats full break in with no oil change needs to be done, which takes time) :)

Racing with those cars are fun, it's a nice change of pace compared to regular races with tuned cars. I also do a lot of shuffle races sometimes those are fun too

I have just opened a room for the recommended McLaren MP4-12C on sport hards. 1472 4710 9909 6403 2260

Yep, I either host Shuffle Races or Similar Recommended Car Races.
Race for Real, Damage Medium, Penalty High, Real Grip, No Boost. Ramming = Kicked out of the room.

i like it too, it's the best way to enjoy a race online, ALL the players with exactly the same cars and no tuning.

A room I’ve been wanting to try but yet to get a single comer:
  • No Skid Recovery
  • No Active Steering
  • No Driving Line
  • Realistic Grip On
  • Tire Wear / Fuel Consumption On
  • Reverse Grid w/ False Start
  • Soft Medium Tires
  • Maserati Gran Turismo S and BMW M3, only
  • Rome or Nordschleife at 18:30 (Progression 1)
I’ve thought of added the DB9, too, but I’m not sure. Or, instead, a fleet of F40!

Those room settings are very similar to the ones we use at the Saturday Stock Car Series (click the link & scroll down), come along & join in the fun if you wish.

I enjoy same car racing too. I only wish there were more recommended cars available. Lately we have been running GT Super series cars because they are only a few upgrades that can be done so the competition is very close.

The chaps and I regularly race the recommended cars. It's good for a giggle and produces close races...

I think the predefined list is a good alternative to tuned cars sometimes. You don't have to agree on hp/pp/weight. Just jump in the car and race.

We sometimes use a regulation where the guy loosing the last race may choose car&track for the next race.

At the time of this post, 46 people voted to say they like racing the Recommended cars online, but I've only had a couple of new guys apply to my race event.

Maybe all the rules & regs are frightening you lot off!

It's great for regulated races but I prefer running my own cars since I tune, color, and personalize them for myself.

But yeah, there is always that one guy who decides to drive a race car, x2010, rm car against stock cars and ruins the race.

I like when people are using same cars and same tyres , car settings can be different but bhp , weight , transmision , ect. Must be same. :) Then only racer experiance shows up :)

I have all/most of the recommended cars anyway. And, besides, i like to race my own personal cars, it feels more rewarding when you win.

I like racing recommended cars. It shows who is the fastest driver and not who has the fastest car.
I would also love to join your series VBR but it is at a bad time for me. :(

We had 1 Aussie guy who joined us a few times, but he had to get up at 5am on a Sunday because of the time difference! Another one tried it, but couldn't keep his eyes open, so I understand.
