Would you like it if GT Sport had an F1 car?

Is anyone else really missing the presence of any Formula One cars in this game? I personally would love to be able to race online in custom-livery Formula Gran Turismo cars (or some other F1 model). More than anything, I think it'd be amazing to see a new 2017+ spec F1 machine in the game, even if it were a generic representation. Sure, Codemasters' F1 2017 was a great release, but GT still offers a different experience with better physics, a livery editor and different tracks.

Open wheelers in sport mode should make people try harder not to make contact, as open wheel contact mostly ends in a tangle.
While there would be extra downforce, people will still be trying to drive above the limit of grip.

GTS doesn't need to replace every game, there are F1 games that do F1 well, there are rally games that do rally well.

I was thinking only a couple of iconic models, not a Gr.Formula like we have Gr.B.

I would like to see an older V8 or V10 F1 car in GT Sport. In fact it would be great to see some junior category open-wheelers.
Having the previous real F1 cars where you werent allowed to race against anything else was a bit of a waste, but a return of something like the generic FGT, plus, like I suggested in the DLC thread, some cars that you could do realistic single-make series with, would be awesome. A Dallara F3 car, Formula Renault 2.0, maybe something junior like a Jedi or F4, then you could add a single seater level in each tier of GT League: F1000 in beginner, FR2.0 in intermediate, F3 in pro, and a full GP in Endurance. Plus some Daily Race carnage to replace the stupid bus racing.

I remember that when asked about open seaters Kaz categorically ruled it out by saying no (just like microtransactions) so seems unlikely.

It doesn't really fit with the GT ethos (the clue is in the name) and I'd rather PD concentrate all resources on further improving the core 'polished'game.

They don't have to be licensed F1 cars, i'd be happy with Formula Gran Turismo again.

Maybe even Super Formula cars or some open wheel cars from a junior series.

If you want them then play PC2, they have them. To me they seem unnecessary, just like the rally tracks. Have never raced on one in GTS, or PC2, and I would say it is a safe bet that I never will. There are other games for these things. JMO

Fair enough. No disrespect, but most of the Nxxx class cars shouldn't be in GT Sport either, there's other games for those too...

Only if it were Vintage F1 cars from the 3-litre era '66 onwards.

I'd say they are pretty comparable. You have an abundance of grip until you don't and spin out, with no way to recover nor a way to tell where that edge of grip actually is.

I'd rather have more currently related content. I also wouldnt mind if they got rid of the rally style racing either...there are good games for both f1 and rally already....gt sport should just stick to gt. Lose rally and add more cars and tracks...

Any F1 cars would be good, or any open wheelers for that matter.

I'd love to see a car representing each era of F1, but the open wheel cars that have already appeared in past GT's would suffice.

GT3 Demo- McLaren MP4-13

GT3- Polyphony 001 (Williams FW18)
Polyphony 002/F688S (McLaren MP4-4)
F686M (Williams FW11)
F687S (Lotus 99T)
F094H/S (Williams FW16)
F090S (MP4-5B)

GT4/5/6- Formula GT (Fictional 90's F1)

GT5- Ferrari F2007, Ferrari F10
GT6- Lotus 97T, *RALT Formula 3*,* Senna Kart*

PD has close ties with the Senna foundation and the majority of the previous cars were driven by him.

They also had a good relationship with Red Bull and also now with Lewis Hamilton.
If licencing is an issue FGT's for each decade would do for me.
Say for example:
FGT Classic- Pre War grand prix style car
Then
FGT 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's (current FGT), 00's and 10's.

F1 cars already have their own game.
Sure, but you really could add a lot of appeal for F1 fans in GT Sport by adding just one F1 car, since it could be customized by players to have any real or fictional livery. Combine that with GT Sport's superior physics and alternate track selection, and I think you'd potentially get an amazing new experience that isn't available through any current F1 game. To be honest, I'm surprised by the percentage of people that are legitimately opposed to the idea of adding one car.

It could be interesting, but the internet would be full of people complaining about the lack of F1 tracks, DRS, and realistic damage.
