Okay, Here it is... a poll, which car would you buy regardless of speed/handling?

For me, I don't mind if the F10 is bit slower if its more up to date and more people use it online.

But it's a lot of money and I am willing to buy either.

Which would you buy? or which have you bought?

Okay, I'm not worried which is faster than the other. For me its about online racing and what others are mainly using...

I know the F2007 will be faster due to the usage of kerrs and the other things surrounding the F10 but I would prefer to use the F10 if others are also.

I have enough money for both now and Have started this poll to get an idea of what others are more likely to buy to make online racing more competitive.

I think the only car with a KERS is the Tesla, isn't it? (EDIT: Maybe the Priuses too...)

KERS weren't included in the F1:2007 regs for sure.

It wasn't introduced into Formula One until the 2009 season, and then it was generally abandoned early on due to lots of issues including reliability. It wasn't that Ferrari could have used it in 2007 and simply chose not no, but that it wasn't part of F1 at all in 2007. In 2010, KERS was allowed under the sporting regulations, but all the teams agreed to not use it at all for the 2010 season.

EDIT:
I may have misinterpreted your post. Second-guessing myself here. At first I thought you might have been frowning on Ferrari for not using it in 2007, but now I'm wondering if you meant Polyphony not working it into either of the F1 cars. Even if that's the case, KERS still wasn't utilized on either the 2007 or 2010 Ferraris because in 2007 it wasn't part of the sport and in 2010 all the teams agreed to not use it.

The F10 uses an F-Duct to stall the rear wing and reduce drag on straights so it can go faster without having the extra weight of the KERS system to lug round the corners. I don't think PD enabled the F-duct in GT5 but as i haven't got an F10 yet i'm not sure

Really no difference, the F2007 looks cooler that's all. I have both of them trust me no difference!!

poll to get an idea of what others are more likely to buy to make online racing more competitive.

If you want competative racing then these are the last cars you should be buying.

1) Hardly anyone is buying them (compared to the amount of people who own GT5), because they have no use in the game, so you are reducing the available amount of people who you can race against.

2) F1 cars will have bigger gaps between people on track. These cars are hard to control and the slightest mistake can cost alot of time on track.

Better option would be to have lower powered road or race cars, then look on the forum and find like minded people who are of the same, or roughly the same, skill level and race with them.

If you realy want to race these cars then look in the GT5 Online section for others who wish to do the same or put an advert / thread in there.

When I get around to buying one, it will be the 07, it just looks better to me and I liked it in Prologue, but know it won't get a lot of use.

Does the F2007 have the V10 while the F2010 has the V8?

No they both have a 2,4 l V8, which by the way is almost identical because of the "frozen engines" which prohibits almost any modifications untill 2013 (not completly sure about the exact year though) where new 1,6 l engines with turbo will be introduced :sly:

So wait, why doesn't Ferrari use the F07 in the Formula One championships?

Because new rules about aerodynamics were introduced in 2009 - which is the reason why the F10's front wing is much wider and it's rear wing much narrower, than on the F2007.
From the 2010 you weren't alloed to refuel during races either, which made much larger fuel-tanks necessary - as they are still racing for the same amount of laps. :)

EDIT:
Which is pretty much what ruf-ctr2 said 👍

As I already said... the F1 cars DON'T have KERS in GT5. Such systems weren't in the 2007 regs and while they were in the 2010 regs there was a "Gentleman's Agreement" between the team bosses that no team would use them (as already explained above).

The only car I've seen with a KERS so far is the Tesla. Like I also said, I haven't driven a Prius in-game yet so I don't know if there is a KERS in one of those.

To answer the original question... If it was on looks alone I'd probably buy the 2010.

No, you took the best interpretation you had. I'm not bashing on the game, and I'm no expert on F1 (by a long shot). If you say that neither one of those cars had KERS, I believe you. I guess now I just don't see why they wouldn't bother to add an '09 F1 car just to show the technology.

Why not, you throw in a Tesla and the Prius, let's see what the tech is capable instead of two cars that nobody really takes seriously (besides maybe the membership of the Screen Actors Guild :yuck:)

if they were to include an '09 car it should be the mclaren, they had the best kers by far

I am also asking my self which one to buy, I got cash for F10 but why is the older F1 car more expensive? It has to be some difference because still its 2.5 million more
