Hi all, let's have some fun! In 14 days we will most likely get a glimpse of the eight game in the Forza Motorsports franchise. So I ask you, what car do you think will be featured in the cover of FM8 or whatever is called? :gtpflag:
(And If you think I'm missing a notable car, please let me know so I expand the list.)
I added the AMG One and Race car (unspecified, obviously) to the voting list.

I often imagine either the Lamborghini Huracan EVO or the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign as the cover cars of Motorsport 8.

Based on the last 3 cover cars, depends what could possibly be unveiled this year. IIRC, the 2RS & Ford GT were unveiled alongside their games, and the P1 was shown just before production with FM5.

Maybe the AMG One? It was reported to be in its final stretch of development.

I don’t know of any hot exotic cars that haven’t been revealed yet and could be the cover car, it could be a surprise like the GT.

From current exotics that haven’t been in games yet, the only plausible and correct cover car choices would be the SF90, Valkyrie and Project One.

I really don’t think the Jesko will be the cover car, it’s already been in quite a few games and lost its hotness, plus T10 can’t have it exclusively.

Why does it have to be a new Supercar on the cover? I would like to see them go with an old school race car on the cover. It's a racing game, not a car collector game. Leave that stuff for Horizon.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Would like to see them put some sort of race car on the cover.

I voted Other because I want an actual racecar on the cover to show they are taking the Motorsport aspect of the name a bit more seriously.
If they want a road car on the cover then have the road car share the spotlight with the racecar version of it. Like having the C8 Corvette along side the C8R GT Racecar.

I mean seriously, stop saying that. You're not a real Forza fan if you think cutting down on cars for Motorsport 8 is a good idea, and if you say that they should be left out in Horizon instead.

Anyways, if a race car should be on the cover, it should be the Forza-sponsored Huracan GT3 that is yet to be added.

Gonna go out on a limb and say some sort of racing car. They’ve said they’re going to double down on the serious racing aspect, so having a proper racing machine on the cover for the first time since FM1 would be an open show of commitment to that. Won’t be a GT3 car because of ACC; would be too similar. F1 is right out for obvious reasons. Considering their close ties to Indy and IMSA, my best guess is it’ll be a 2020-season Indycar or a Daytona Prototype. GTE/GTLM is also a less-likely possibility, just because they look like a GT3 car and thus subject to the same issues as a GT3 cover car. A more maverick choice would maybe be one of the new GT1-knockoff LMP car replacements like the SCG003 whatever or that vapourware Toyota.

On the other hand, if they choose a road car, my best guess would be an Aston Valkyrie or AMG Project One.

Its bound to be an exclusive road car as that's what draws the casual buyer in. So it could be something like the Valkyrie. Which is the exact car I predict it will be.

So, you think a Box Van should be in a racing game? Or how about that Barrett Jackson Plymouth Roadster looking thing? Maybe that one could be in for the drag racers. Even then, shouldn't the drag racing be in Horizon?

A Polaris Side by Side has no business being in a Car Racing Sim.

Cut all the dumb gimmick cars from FM8. If someone wants to race that crap, let them race it on Horizon.

Asking for Forza to cut back on the number of cars because of "quality over quantity" is basically just asking for a repeat of what happened with FM5.
Forza is at it's best when we have the freedom to race silly cars around the Nurburgring. I love Forza's spot as an entry level sim, with tons of unique cars to drive.
I loved every Gran Turismo game, but did not touch Gran Turismo Sport for the first 2 years because of just how cut back it was compared to the main Gran Turismo titles, It lost that specialness that I loved from the older games. I don't want that to happen with Forza. I want the next Forza to be a competitor to Gran Turismo 7, not Gran Turismo Sport.

While I'm not one of those who only care about the latest GT & Supercars. I do think the time has come for each and every car to merit a place in the next motorsport game, esp now we have Horizon where anything goes, or if they feature during the career mode. Road cars could have track day or sprint events but some of the racing divisions need to be much better.

Like I said before, T10 should balance both road cars and race cars like in FM1 (heck, even from FM2, 3 & 4), because that game had the best balance out of all the Forzas on XB1 imo. If T10 can mimic that with FM8, which I hope they do because they should, than everybody (keyword: EVERYBODY, not just one or some) will be happy.

And no, road cars should NOT be in only Horizon. Road cars is what helps MAKE the motorsport in Forza Motorsport, especially if you build them to a certain class/category/standard for racing. For example, if FM8 is planning to feature Rally/offroad racing, I'm going to build as many cars as possible for that sport. Just like road racing.

We'll just have to see what T10 has in store for us on the 23rd of July next week. Good times ahead!

On topic: I really think it would be the Koenigsegg Jesko. However, if it's another car, that would be cool! After, having a latest car be on the cover is what captures the eyes of many. Having only a race car would be weird. Why not both?

I by no means was saying that all road cars should be in Horizon. Far from what I think. I race 99,99% road cars in A, B, C Class lobbies. '

I am saying all "gimmick" cars should be in Horizon, and have no place in Motorsports. The vans, the stupid 3 wheel cars, the Polaris Razor, the stupid Hot Wheels car with two engines. Keep that crap in Horizon for the kiddies.

Those "Gimmick" cars are what gives Forza a unique identity among the plethora of Sim racing games we have available to us. And there is fun to be had with them.

Okay, so maybe they can give them their own Class, so that they can't be used with other normal race cars. Keep them out of the Public Lobbies, and the League Races. Make a Public Lobby and League race just for the gimmick cars.

Back on Topic.
Leverage the IMSA partnership Forza has been sitting on for the last few years and have the cover feature a full roster of Cars from IMSA.
Good way to showcase the partnership while showing an increased focused on actual Motorsport.

If they insist on a road car of some sort I want to have it side by side with a racecar version of it, Even if Turn 10 has to model a fictional racecar version of it.
GT Sport has fictional GT4 and GT3 cars based on models that don't have a real GT racecar version. I would personally like it if Forza would do the same to add more variety of GT racecars.

You'd have to imagine based on recent titles that it's an entirely new car, presumably either a Ford, Porsche, Lamborghini or McLaren.

Most of the more viable options in the poll already exist in other games (the Jesko is in GRID).

Assuming they're going for the more serious route in terms of game design, I could see them going for a GT3 car. Maybe the 2021 Porsche?

Since a Porsche was a cover car on the last game, I'm guessing they'll go with a different manufacturer this time. My money is on the C8 Corvette.

FM: Acura NSX and Nissan 350Z
FM2: Nissan 350Z
FM3: Audi R8
FM4: Ferrari 458
FM5: McLaren P1
FM6: Ford GT
FM7: Porsche 911 GT2 RS

They've never gone with wild vaporware hypercars. They've always used cars that are generally well-known. The McLaren is the only really exotic car they've ever used. I'm still betting on the C8 Corvette.
