Yeah and how is this got anything to do with the hybrids and the thread? Inconsiderate people have been flooding the open lobbies since day one. Not just because of 200,000 hp cars.

I'm actually happy, as long as they actually ban those who are cheating. I play GTA IV a lot and the amount of cheaters on there grows every day, as old as the game is and nothing is ever done about it.

I'm neutral, slightly leaning towards unhappy about them, I've not been banned yet, but theoretically I could be as I have made a few hybrid cars myself (But I doubt I will be as I don't use them in seasonl time/drift trial events which seems to be the only thing that gets you banned). Banning users for this achives nothing to stop the problem (if you consider it a problem) all it does is work as a weak scare tactic which people have already discovered a work around for.

If they really wanted to stop the problem they would use a new/different encryption for the save file, but I think this is out of PD's hands, as far as I know, and I could be wrong on this, is that all PS3 save files use the same encyrption (pattern/code? sorry I dont know the right term) So the only way PD could stop the hybrid problem is if Sony uses a new encryption code for ALL games save files so that the current tools/programmes do not work anymore.

This is how I see it as well.
It was some weeks since I last ran GT5 and I saw an EK with amount of HP and was first suspecting he user because it thought his 440KM/h GTR 35 was odd then he brought out the EK and I was like "dude... let me spec you before you change car".

So for me it was just fun to see how fast it ran. I was hosting a free run server anyway and saw no reason to kick him because he made effort to not crash into others.

I really don't like the whole hacked car and hidden menu exploites activities that have been going on. Just because some people think they are making slightly realistic cars, it still is breaking the rules and is a major pain in the backside when these things sneak into online races.

For it to be so accepted by many players as it now gives the game such a "great" new life, is deeply saddening as it's hacking, editing or simply cheating. For every player saying they use it in "private" lobbies, I bet there are at least 3 who are trying to sneak something under the radar.

If this becomes a legit feature in future GT series, then so be it, but for now it does not belong in the game or acceptance by players.

At this point, you're going to have to do an HP check just before race start to make sure there are no hybrids with outrageous HP numbers that break the PP system. It is an added step and a pain for the host, but it does work. Should be standard procedure now in open lobbies for any responsible host. If you lose to a "realistic" hybrid, you'll just have to chalk that up to lack of skill...lol.

if the car has a lower PP number via ridiculous amounts of horsepower it's INCREDIBLY easy to spot and boot, to make PP start to lower you have to have uncontrollable amounts of HP, especially if TCS is turned off.

Unhappy the ban has scared the *%#! Outta so many people you could find jimmy hoffa before you can find someone to hack a car for you gt5 was played out hybrids breathed new life into it
