I'm just about to finish the Nürburgring 24, which I probably never would have done before the Suspend Race feature was implemented. I did manage to finish everything except the 24 hour races, but since I didn't feel comfortable leaving the PS3 on all night, even the 9-hour Tsukuba was pushing it. So, I'm curious: how far did everyone get - either before Suspend Race was implemented, or if you did them more recently, without using the save feature?

Note: You can only choose one option. Choose the longest you completed without saving (yes I realize there are 2 24s, just choose Nurb if you did both, and if you're one of the rare few that did Nurb and not Le Mans, pick Le Mans). Sorry if this was confusing, it's my first poll :)

No multiple choice poll? FAIL.

Well, I guess it depends on what you're asking. I'm just curious what the longest race was that most people completed without saving, not a list of every endurance race they completed. I imagine there might be people that completed the 9-hour race but not a couple of the previous ones, for example, and I'm just interested to know that they did a 9-hour race without saving.

You can only select one vote in the poll. Not multiple.

So I can't list all the races I've done without it.

"What's the longest endurance race you've completed without using the Suspend Race feature?" ;)

Indy 500. Left it overnight when I slept, but came back to finish in the morning.

I've done all the endurance races except for the 24hr hour races, all in the one shot, no saves involved.

Have a good one

So far I've done them all in one sitting.
My PS3 locked up 6 hours into my first go at the LeMans 24 race. I think I will probably use the suspend feature when I have another crack at it.

I remember the 9 hours of Tsukuba were Elise tastic though. Felt like the matrix... the birds were not singing and the sun didn't move across the sky either.

The classic Grand Valley 300. But that was before the save feature was added. I don't like playing more than an hour so I'll be using it a lot for the rest of endurance races.

4h Nürburgring. I think it's the perfect endurance race, not too long, so it's possible to do it in one single session and it's a great track. Also, it can be done with the Lexus Wed's Sport, which is one of my favourite cars in the game :)
So instead of moving on the the 9h & 24h races, I just keep doing the Nürburgring 4h over and over again.

I did everything all the way up to the 4 Hours of Nurburgring. 9 hours of T"suk"uba will make me forget how to race on every other track.

I've done the Grand Valley and Laguna Seca races twice each without saving. The Indy 500 about 4 times early in the game when there were no seasonals to get to level 30. The Nurburgring 4 hours 7 times with 7 different cars (and I can still recall each of these cars), I usually just have a go at this race when I'm bored and have a lot of spare time. I voted for the Suzuka 1000km though as that one took me the longest at 6 hours and 8 minutes in the Skyline R34 Touring Car which needed to pit for tyres every few laps.

I did everything up to the 1000km Suzuka race without saving or stopping overnight. I did the 9hr Tsukuba and 24hrs of Le Mans by holding the PS3 on overnight. I heard of the update for the saves and waited an additional month for the 24hr Nurburgring race.

Grand Valley, Laguna, and Indy in A-Spec

All except the two 24 hour races in B-Spec

I agree. I really liked that race, and its the first I plan to do again after finishing them all. There are a couple others I want to do again just because I originally did them either before I got my wheel or before I got the car I really wanted to run them with.

I think my least favorite was probably Suzuka 1000km. It rained almost literally the entire race.

Heh, ya. 500+ laps gets pretty mind-numbing. I tried to pick a car that would be a challenge to win with, just to make it interesting, but by about lap 100 I'd improved my lap times and tire management so much that it wasn't even close.

Polyphony definitely failed here. I was stuck in Afghanistan since right before GT5 came out (I'm a fanatic, bought GT5 Prologue download when it became available in Japan...). I was stuck with GT5 version 1.0 most of my deployment, and when I finally got to the endurance races it was a miracle for me to get back from "work" without the power in my tent going out (so B spec race results were few and far between). There is no way I would have got through the A spec endurance races with my PS3 being paused for that length of time to complete a long race.

I never saved a race, i finished them all way back before the save feature was introduced.
The pause button was the only help

All except the 24Hour races, the one that I simply hated was Tsukuba 9h, really, really, really boring, did it and forgot.
Did more then once:
-1000km Suzuka(2x)
-200 Miles Laguna Seca(3x)
-300km Grand Valley(3x)
-4 Hours Nürburgring(4x)

And the 24Hours with 3 saves.

I did the GVS 300km, Roadster 4h, Laguna Seca 200m and Indy 500 before the save feature. The only endurance I've done with the save feature is the Suzuka 1000km. Still have the Nurburgring 4h, Tsukuba 9h and both 24h races to do. :scared:

24 Hours of LeMans with the Mazda 787B. It was a lot of fun using a less powerful car but I was pretty much out of it 20 hours in lol. Swore to myself I'd never do another 24 hour race without the race save feature.

The last few hours can really be tough. I just finished the Nurb 24, and even though I took a 3-day break before finishing, the last 2 hours were still the toughest. It gives me a lot of respect for drivers that used to do 18+ hours in a single Le Mans. I had rain for the last 9 hours, and it takes a lot more focus than I have to keep 800hp stuck to a sopping wet Nurburgring for that long. I probably averaged on off-track excursion every 3 or 4 laps in those last 2 hours.
