If you make it to the finals, what will make you inelegible or unable to procede?

If you qualify for the finals what would make you ineligible to proceed to Silverstone?

I personally think I am too out of shape to get ready in time if I made it that far.

Edit: lol I misspelled proceed in the poll question, oh well.

well i know im a little chunkey, so it wont make me ineligable, but i will be slow in a cart...:sly:

I'm 5'6, 130 lbs and have little to no muscle mass. Would get my butt kicked during the physical challenges.

It'll be fun to see you and Choate squabble in person instead of from behind computer screens. :)

It wouldn't happen though, people actually have manners IRL. Its sad how the internet can bring out the worst in us.

Adjust the poll to add more than just 1 reason please....I'm too fat, too old, AND can't leave work.... But I'm willing to go to silverstone for some real car action!

Yeah, well I'm about the least intimidating person you'll ever see.

He forgot the Masshole exception. In other parts of the country people pretend to be nice to each other.

 So true, being a Masshole myself I'm always skeptical of out-of-staters being too nice/polite.

edit: quick OT question for Blindside, why do you use KPH instead of MPH in GT5? I'm guessing so you can get a more accurate indication for how fast you are at certain speed reference points? Or are you originally from outside the US?

edit2: Oh and to be fully on topic with this thread (even though, unless by some miracle breakthrough in my driving skills, I am not expecting to make it past Round 2) :

I probably would miss school if I made it as far as Silverstone, but would be totally screwed academically because of it. So I would deffinetly have to think carefully about it and see if there is anyway possible way I could make it all work.

My southern charm is just my way of saying "F off" while actually sayin "Why yes sir, ya'lls very nice people"

As they say here (and I'm only virginia) if someone calls you Darlin', what they really mean is "Stupid sl**/b****/wh***"

Comes in real handy :D

@Sean - I'm from Massachusetts. However, before this competition I actually ran a few practice laps with the 370z at Indy. Since I didn't really participate in GT Academy 2010, I had no way of stacking up. Most of the online videos were in kph, so I switched over to compare. It has 2 other major advantages: 1) as you mentioned it's a little more precise than mph, but more importantly 2) kph doesn't really "mean anything" to me since I'm used to thinking in mph; therefore it doesn't mess me up mid corner and I look down and see that I'm going wicked fast...it seems stupid, but it works for me. If you get in a slump, try switching over just for fun.

@notmychoice - why not just say GFY if that's what you really mean? 👍

I would probably fail the vision test but if i were to make the finals somehow I would probably spring the money to have the Lasik done.

If I make it to the finals, I'm taking a quarter off school, end of discussion. There's absolutely nothing that would stop me from taking full advantage of this kind of an opportunity. I'd probably stay in town and train with the triathlon team religiously til the flight out to Silverstone.

I don't want to be a smart a** or anything but I'm enelegable because I'm australian, have a PAL disc, am under the age, can't miss work, can't miss school & I am the stig. (Just ask my bumper sticker) ;)

Do I have a record?

Its funny, being from Canada where we use kph in every day life, I have always used mph in racing games. It just seems more natural lol.

Funny, I do use Darlin' as a term of endearment with female family members, and lady friends.

However I am a bit older than most on this board, and originally from out west.

To be on topic though. Had I progressed round 3 might have been a problem for me because I have a month long work trip to Indonesia coming up at the end of March.

Haha darlin as a term of endearment is not uncommon, that's why its hard to tell when someone's insulting you. It's not an age thing at all, in fact my grandmother was teh one who told me about it bc I asked her why she called my mom darlin all the time (they didn't get along).

I would be eligible, from PD's point of view, but my wife has already decided that I would be ineligible for other reasons. That doesn't alarm me very much, though, as I seriously doubt I'll make it to Round 3 let alone Silverstone.

Wouldn't it be funny if some randoms from the top 128 wipe the floor with us all in round 2 and were all sitting here in march with big WTF's on our faces. =)

Oh Great Racing Spirit, please let me be one of those random 128 :D

hehe, I was kinda thinking that too. What if Christian Syzmczak is lurking in the background some where under some unfamiliar name waiting to destroy us all:scared:

Oh Great Racing Spirit, please let me be one of those random 128 :D

I've been burning rubber in my Camaro to honor the Great God Of Speed for days now in hopes that I'll be granted a +4 Hit The Apex skill.

Other than frightening others, I don't think my attempts are having much effect.

Haha, I was actually referring to people that aren't on this forum, it seems like all of the top drivers are posting here, so its not likely to happen, but I would find it quite hilarious if all of us, including the top guys, somehow got weeded out by people who don't post here and were like "where the **** did these guys come from?" lol I know Hunk would be pissed, he has been talking about Orlando since day 1. I doubt anyone who got a playseat wont make it to Orlando, but hey, its like the playoffs now, anything can happen.

The playoffs...hmmm...I like that comparison. Time for the competition to heat up.
