My stand cost about $0 to me. My father already had the wood laying around, plenty of wood screws, and he bought the bolts for the hard mount for me. Through the rig would cost around $10-$30. I already had the 22 year old recliner so I was set for a seat. More pics in the cheap cockpit thread.
Used some 2x4's for the base, an 2x2 was screwed to the 2x4's, and the 2x3 arms were secured by some 2x2's. Shelf is at and 40 degree angle to help make it feel more like a car.
