Further explanation of the theme, in the words of bmxmitch:

"GT5 isn't just Race-Cars. Show me your small family cars, like a Golf, Mini, 207, etc..."

CARS: Any Compact car (Premium or Standard)
LOCATIONS: Any
PHOTOTRAVEL: Yes
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: No

# Do not vote on your entry;
# Do not try to sway the poll or hint at which picture is yours if you made the poll
# In the event of a tie, a 24 hour poll is created;
# In the event of a second tie, Judge's vote is the deciding factor;

Damn, looks like I wasn't the only one who used the 147. Guess that's why I didn't make the poll.
 
I'm surprised mine even has votes let alone is in the poll! :O Smiling like an idiot being in both polls for the two comps I entered. Maybe I'm not as bad at this photo stuff as I thought?
 
This is my First time seeing some of the entries that didn't make it, and I can't even tell who's is who's on the Poll, only mitch knows the Answer

Hope noone is too disappointed, but I think I made a good choice. Seeing that there is no pic with 0 votes, my choice gets approved..right!? ;)

i think I had 20 Entries and all where pretty much on the same level. So it was damn hard to pick the Top 10!
Glad I dont have to choose a Top 20 out of 100, like its in the PMC! :dopey:



And just for you guys, I let you know why your pics didn't made the poll. Or, at least I try to explain it to you guys!

Yours would've made it if it wasn't that dark and the focus wasn't that of. If you look at the back the number-plate is a bit too fuzzy. Those two things where the major things that disordered me. Sorry mate

yours was a close one. I really didn't know if I should pic your 147 or the other one. I think in the end I chose the other one because I liked the colors and wanted a more variety in the poll. Regardless of that, your shot was/is great to! ;)

I really cant tell you why you dont made it in the poll.:scared: The shot is great and the carbon hood didn't destroyed it for me. Its simply the problem I had to kick some pics. There where alot of Entries on the same level. In the end I was going for my feelings. And somehow it felt too fast for the compact car feeling I was looking for. Thats the only reason I can give you there....:rolleyes:

The car would've fit the theme perfect and I liked the shot alot. Also, its very brave to zoom so close on a standard car! ;)

a bit too dark for my taste. Also, shooting a matte colored car is always a though thing. If there where some reflections on it, you may would've reached the poll. But in this one is something missing. But I know you can pull awesome shots, so the next poll is waiting for you! ;)

I really liked the look of the car. Everything looked perfect there. It nearly made me think it is a premium car. But the trees! They killed it for me:nervous:
Somehow they look too blurry and not very real. Only the trees hold you of the poll mate. Sorry...

Thanks for the response, I really do appreciate it. Thanks for judging, I am beginning to see how much you put a target on your chest by doing that. The feedback is great to have, I knew that my pic wasn't quite inline with the theme but it's the best one I took that qualified for the comp. Best of luck to all. Thanks again Mitch.

Just one question. Does this poll end on the Sunday or does it end earlier??
 
Mine says it closes at 5:44pm April 10. Since I am on US Central that would make it just before midnight GMT.

No worries. Judging picks is completely subjective, and I'm not one to try and second guess someone else's personal preferences. I like that we all don't see things the same way when scrutinizing pics. Makes it interesting. :)

For me, my photo just doesn't work with a shiny car. Reflections definitely weren't in my game plan on this one. My goal was to get the car's muted tone to match as closely to the pavement as possible. I wanted them to blend together. And dark is well... a personal favorite of mine. It's also the only photo I've ever taken of a matte finished car and liked. ;)

But the dark-side just didn't fit to this weeks theme....at least in my opinion!

despite that though I appreciate everyone who voted in this comp (esp 4 me... lol) and hope this bodes well for it to continue. Great shots in the poll and it was nice to see 'the run of the mill cars' getting some of the attention for a change thanks to bmxmitch.
